Question:

Hi, I am looking to replace my existing eye and hook leaf springs with new, double eye leaf springs. The application is for my boat trailer which has a gvwr of 2600 lbs. The existing springs are 26 inches long x 1-3/4 inches wide and are three plates. I see so many different options and am not sure what would be the right way to go. I appreciate any help you could give me. Thank you

Hey Mike, thanks for the information! To replace your 26" long slipper spring, I recommend the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring item # e48SR. It's got a special coating that is perfect for a boat trailer that will protect against rust and salt corrosion.

The item # e48SR spring is sold individually and measures 26" from eye to eye and has four leafs. It's designed for 4,000 lbs axles but it will not be too stiff for your boat trailer or raise your ride height.

In addition to the leaf springs themselves you will also need to cut off your current hangers and weld on new ones. The best kit is going to be the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit item # APS4. It includes 3-1/4" tall front hangers, 1-1/4" tall rear hangers, 3-1/8" shackle straps and new suspension bolts.
