A steady suspension starts with a solid seat. This TruRyde spring seat welds to a 2-3/8" diameter round axle—typical for a 3,500-lb setup—so the leaf spring stays right where it should. The flat side of the seat has a cutout that wraps around the raised spring pad, locking it in place to prevent the axle from turning or shifting under load.
No need to hunt for a match when working on different spring sizes. This seat is built to work with both 1-3/4" and 2" wide leaf springs, giving you flexibility for standard double-eye or slipper-style suspensions. The fit is tight and true, so once welded on, it holds everything square and level.
Getting the axle straight isn’t guesswork with this seat. It’s made to position the spring exactly where it belongs for correct geometry and steady towing. When welded in place, it restores the proper centerline and keeps the trailer tracking evenly behind you.

Today we're going to be taking a look at this spring seat for typical 3,500 pound round trailer axles with a 2 3/8" diameter. The spring seat is a necessary component of your trailer suspension system when mounted with a 1 3/4" or 2" wide leaf spring. It adds extra support and provides proper positioning for the axle. It's made from a durable steel construction. It would weld onto a 2 3/8" diameter axle which is a typical 3,500 pound axle. It sits on top of a 1 3/4" or 2" side leaf spring. The cutout on the flat side would surround the raised knob on the leaf spring to prevent turning in or shifting.
It simply provides that extra support and secure positioning for the trailer axle. Please note that two spring seats are required for each axle. A few measurements to go over with you real quick starting with the overall length. It's going to give us a measurement of 4" long. Overall width, it's going to measure about 1 7/8" wide. Height is about 1 1/4" tall, and this opening right here of this rounded area at the widest point, that's going to give us a measurement of about 2 1/8".
