Does Trailer Spring Seat Need to be Welded to Axle

Question:
Hi, I have put a new axle 3500lbs onto my small trailer 3.5*5 feet trailer. Do I need to weld the perch onto the axle or should the u-bolts be enough? The trailer is quite light, probably about 500lbs including cargo when driving.

You do want to weld the spring seat of your axle to it. If you are in need of a spring seat for a 3,500 lb axle you'd want the part # TRSS238 and you'd be set.
