A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. When properly installed, this type of light can function as both a front clearance light and a side marker light or as a rear clearance light and side marker light.

The mounting holes of the Sealed, Steel Armored LED Trailer Clearance and Side Marker Light # MCL86AB are 3-7/8 inches apart measured on center. I attached a picture that has this and a couple other dimensions as well plus a review video. Armored 24 Volt Style of Amber Trailer Clearance Lights
We have amber trailer clearance lights that are 24 volt compatible with the part # MCL66A24B but the clearance lights you mentioned will only work with 12 volt systems. For a heavy duty base similar to the light you mentioned you can also add the part # BK66DB for silver or # BK66D1B for black as well!

How to Install the Optronics # MCL86AB Clearance Light on a 2005 GMC Sierra
Although the Optronics # MCL86AB is designed for trailers you can possibly use it on your 2005 GMC Sierra. When a clearance light only has one wire it is because it is grounded through the mounting hardware. Since the Steel Armored LED light that you referenced has 2 wires (one for power and one for ground) you would need a ring terminal like part # DW05737-1 and a self-tapping screw like part # FA1131822 for the ground.

I recommend a clearance light like part # MCL85AB. These lights have a sealed lens and housing and can be submersed. This light has an amber lens and 3 LEDs. This light has one wire for power and is grounded with the mounting hardware.
