These lamps are designed to surface mount using machine or self tapping screws as shown in the photo I've provided for you.   Lights like the # MCL31AB and # MCL31RB are cheap but that is the nature of a small clearance light in this style. I wouldn't really expect better performance from any other brand. I know it happens, but we don't really see complaints about the lights burning out. Optronics lights are backed by a lifetime warranty on the LEDs so a light like your # BUL52CB is covered under and can be replaced.
