This Dexter idler hub is made for serious towing duty. It’s built to handle 5,200-lb, 6,000-lb, and 7,000-lb axles and carries a 3,500-lb weight capacity per hub. The iron construction provides solid strength you can count on under heavy loads, and the zinc-enriched paint finish helps keep rust at bay through years of use on the road or at the ramp.
Everything’s included so you can get your hub installed without hunting for parts. It comes with inner bearing 25580 (1.75" ID), outer bearing 14125A (1.25" ID), matching races (25520 and 14276), grease seal GS-2125DL with a 2.125" inner diameter and 3.376" outer diameter, plus the cap, wheel bolts, and lug nuts. The hub fits spindles that use a 2-1/8" ID grease seal and can also fit those requiring a 2-1/4" seal when paired with RG06-070 (sold separately).
Finding wheels is simple thanks to the standard 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern and 1/2" wheel studs. It pairs up with common trailer wheels from 16" to 17-1/2". The design keeps things straightforward when matching to existing hardware or upgrading components across multiple axles.
For those mixing idler and brake axles, this hub matches up perfectly with Dexter’s brake hub assemblies like part #42866UC3. Both use the same bearings, bolt pattern, and weight ratings, so you can set up one axle for braking and another for free rolling without compatibility headaches during a rebuild or conversion project.
Trailers that see regular use in wet or dusty conditions need protection that lasts. The zinc-enriched paint finish resists corrosion while keeping the hub looking clean after years of towing. It’s a simple but effective detail that helps extend service life and ensures smoother maintenance down the road.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"
Ratings & Reviews
IL N Y AVAIT PAS DE BEARING NI NUT DE ROUE , POURTANT SUR LE DESSIN IL EN A. [There was no wheel bearing or nut included, even though the diagram shows them.]
Awesome stuff. Between etrailer & Dexter we found a perfect idler hub replacement to go from demountable rims to rims w/lug nuts.
All I need now are rims & tires.
The young lady was earnestly working to resolve my needs. I would never hesitate to work with this team for all my trailer needs.
No grease cap or zerk to replace the one that came off the old hub. No way to grease other than removing the cap everytime. Not ideal for a marine trailer application. Got to find a different cap now.
ETrailer staff was able to find a hub to fit a very old spindle from a farm buggy we pull by tractor for kids to ride. They were able to match bearing sizes and sell odd size grease seal. Old tires, wheels and hubs were shot. A friend gave 4 jeep wheels to complete the job making a cool update.
Awesome.
Thanks,

PARTS WORKED GREAT
all items appear to be of good quality
service was good, contact person was very helpful and followed up with my concerns
thank you all.
The hubs themself seem heavy and very nice but the shipping was very bad. The boxes were destroyed luckily the smaller parts were in a bag or they would’ve been lost. One box had a big hole missing the other boxes were damages. Hubs were loose in box and nothing to keep hub from moving around in boxes. Desiccant bag was ripped open and everywhere.

I apologize about the state of the boxes. I am glad that nothing was lost or damaged.
Hub kit worked great and had no problems on installation
Great buy to convert my hubs
It took forever to get the parts I had ordered. And after speaking with someone to ensure the parts would match, I still received spindles and hubs that would not fit. I tried to call and email and got no response.
You can ALWAYS count on the wonderful people and quality of products, in regards to Etrailer.
Have ordered many times from them and always totally satisfied.
In this case, I ordered trailer rail support pieces for my heavy, custom 3 pontoon fishing boat.
Can't wait to get everything mounted and load the boat for the first time with all the new upright rollers and rail supports... all from Etrailer!
Thanks, Etrailer!
All the material is top notch, my only issue is the packing, The last order had a hub and extra bearings and 3 seals. The seals were on the bottom under the hub, and one edge of one seal was bent a bit. I fixed it and it worked fine, but any further damage I would have to order a seal or go buy one local delaying putting that hub on. Your cost is better than what I can get in Orange, the little extra time to wait is worth it. The goose neck receiver I bought and the brake break away kit can with the battery on top of the heavy pipe, thus if someone had turned the box upside down the brake away kit would have been damaged. A piece of foam insulation between would have been cheap insurance.
