Direct Bolt on, better than welding. Surge Brake Line connected just fine. Bled Brakes. Test drive was successful. What more could you ask for. I chose the hand tightening knob over the Lever because it was more assuring to me that it was tight on the ball and the locking mechanism has never failed. I have used Titan surge actuators for 40 years. I am using this actuator on a 4,000 lbs. boat and trailer. On my way to the lake!
I would rate it a -2 if I could. This hitch is junk. It is difficult to hitch up your trailer and I have to take it apart to unhitch. I my installer hadn’t welded it on, I would have returned it.

It has remained durable during salt water use. No problems at all.
