Today we're going to take a look at the replacement master cylinder with the bypass solenoid for the Demco drum brake actuators. Now this is a replacement master cylinder. It's designed for use with the Demco trailer brake actuators that have the electric reverse lockouts. This is designed to work with the DA66B DA86 DA91 DA10 DA16 and the DA20 models designed for drum brakes. The master cylinder is a composite master cylinder. It's very durable and efficient. Uses glass reinforced nylon construction to help resist rust and corrosion and it's a very large reservoir to help provide increased capacity for the brake fluid, at the top if you notice it has this nice automotive style diaphragm cap that creates a completely enclosed system, helps prevent contamination of the fluid, brake fluid will go right in there. And this one has the electric inaudible 00:00:52 reverse lockout on the back here that'll let you back up without actuating your trailer brakes.
The master cylinder with this bypass solenoid will install in your Demco drum brake actuator, has two wires here that are wired into your tow vehicle so that your trailer brakes won't activate when you shift your vehicle on the reverse. One of the wires is a ground wire, the other is a power wire. The power wire is connected to your reverse circuit on your trailer connector, the ground wire connects to the ground connection. So basically when the vehicles placed in reverse, the electrical signal powers the solenoid, which prevents the brake fluid from getting to the brakes. Now this one happens to be a bypass configuration which means when it's energized, it will only allow the brake fluid to flow back into the master cylinder. You can see the hose that's hooked up here, so when it's axle or when it's energized, the fluid will just go right back into there, it won't go to the brakes to apply the brakes.A non bypass configuration when energized will just prevent the fluids from flowing anywhere it won't have this hose on it.But that should do it for the review on the replacement master cylinder with the bypass solenoid for Demco drum brake actuators..

For use with Demco hydraulic surge-type drum brake actuator. The bypass cylinder leaked didn't figure this out until I was finished installing it. I wasn't about to take it back apart so I had to but super small hose clamps to get it right. Not happy about that but I made it work....
My hydraulic brakes probably haven't been working since I purchased my used trailer 5 years ago. Videos of a properly working unit on etrailer helped me diagnose the problems. Easy to find parts that I needed online. Arrived ahead of expected time, even during Corana-19. All the parts fit perfectly!!! I couldn't be happier!
