I added the extra 10 watt solar panel to my TorkLift Power Armor battery box. Installation was fast as the battery box was already pre-drilled for the extra panel. All the hardware and connections were included. My batteries stay maintained and are always ready for the road!

I had previously bought a Forklift PowerArmor Battery Box without the Solar Power Kit. Having decided to add the Solar Kit I ordered the kit and received same in good order as has been my experience with e-trailer. The problem came as I was installing the unit in the box. The directions said to use the machine screws with clips to attach the solar panel to the lid. The trouble was the clips they sent were for sheet metal screws not machine screws. The hardware bag had 4 #8 machine screws and 4 #8 sheet metal screws that were supposed to be used to screw the electrical connector to the battery box except the predrilled holes in the battery box were to large for the screws machine or sheetmetal. I used the sheetmetal screws to hold the solar panel to the lid and ran to the hardware store to purchase 4 stainless steel machine screws, washers and nuts to hold the electrical connector to the battery box. I have no idea if the solar panel is working that's going to be a wait and see deal at this time

Product is great - But I was very displeased to find out that these units sell for $ 109.00 to $ 119.00 on the internet elsewhere. I will not be using etrailer.com in the future.

  • Will Two 12 Volt Marine Batteries Fit in and Be Charged Up By TorkLift PowerArmor Battery Box
The TorkLift PowerArmor battery box # TLA7708RS has the following internal dimensions: 26-1/2" long x 7-3/8" wide x 12-9/16" tall. You would have to place your batteries next to each other and measure them to determine if both will fit in this box. Provided the batteries are wired as a 12 volt system the solar panel can charge them. But charging 2 batteries will take twice as long. The batteries would need to be at least at 50 percent charge for the solar panel to charge them up. A second...

  • Can the Tekonsha Two Stage 12 V DC Battery Charger # 2024-07 be Used for Deep Cycle Battery
You are on the right track with your thinking, and I do have a solution for you, but the Tekonsha Two Stage 12 V DC Battery Charger # 2024-07 that you referenced is for smaller breakaway batteries and will not work for your application. Since you are wanting to charge and maintain a deep cycle battery you will need to use the Redarc BCDC Dual Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1240D instead. This comes with a way to connect your battery to the alternator as well as a solar panel like part # TLA7713...

  • Recommended Solar Charger for a Breakaway Battery
Yes, we do Ken! What you're looking for is called a trickle charger and the best one for solar is going to be the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger item # BRW54FR. This kit includes a 7.5 watt solar panel that will help to maintain battery power when not used for extended periods of time. It has eyelet terminals to connect to your breakaway battery wiring for a secure connection. What kind of trailer do you have? You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says...

  • Adding a Battery to an Enclosed Trailer with a Breakaway Battery Already Installed
To charge a battery for use in your trailer you will need to either use the CTEK MULTI US 7002 12-Volt Universal Battery Charger w/ Pulse Maintenance # CTEK56353 when you have your trailer parked, or use the Dual Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1240D. The second option will allow you to provide a maintenance charge from your tow vehicle and add a Solar Panel # TLA7713 (see attached picture). This will trickle charge your battery which will not be as quick as the first option but will allow it...

  • Carrying 2 Batteries and 2 Propane Tanks on a Trailer Tongue
Propane tanks can't be store inside of an enclosed container like a toolbox. If they build enough pressure it has to vent out to open air. That is why the plastic propane tank covers you see on trailers are open at the bottom. I recommend a traditional dual tank cover, # CAM40532, for the propane tanks so you are nice and safe there. The batteries can go into a box. I recommend box # TLA7708R which is designed for batteries. It is 26-3/4 inches long, 8-3/16 inches wide, and 13 inches tall...

  • Solar Panel and Breakaway System Recommendation for Gooseneck Trailers
For what you are looking for I think the Solar Panel Kit part # TLA7713 would be a great option to put a maintenance charge on the breakaway batteries of your trailers as they sit for extended periods of time. You will also need the regulator part # TLA7715. I attached an install video that shows the panel being installed on a similar trailer battery. The breakaway system part # 20099 would be a great option to as it has a charger built into it. I attached an install video for this as well.

The Solar Power Kit # TLA7713 will allow you to add to your TorkLift PowerArmor Locking Battery Box # TLA7700L. This will effectively give you the TorkLift PowerArmor Solar Locking Battery Box # TLA7700LS. A solar panel would work well for you with this application. I recommend the Solar Power Kit from Torklift # TLA7713. We recently installed this solar panel on a trailer to maintain the charge on a battery. I have attached a review and installation video of this solar panel for you. • Recommended Trailer Wiring for Solar and Vehicle Charged Trailer Batteries with Inverter
I can absolutely help you with this trailer. First, I recommend using the 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box # HS381-9000 along with ring terminals # 44-5310A. This will easily allow you to convert your 4-way wiring and also add your trailer brakes using # 10-1-1. Then you can use the 10 inch # AKEBRK-35-SA for the 4 hole mounting flange or 12 inch # AKEBRK-7-SA brake assemblies for the 5 bolt mounting flange. • How to Charge & Maintain Trailer-Mounted Battery on Dump Trailer
7-way vehicle wiring can deliver a maintenance charge to keep a charged trailer battery at full charge while you're driving but it will not be able to deliver enough current to re-charge a depleted battery. That will require a shore-power charger like one of the CTEK units, such as # CTEK56353. Another option is a solar panel charger like # TLA7713 which works continuously as long as light is available. For use with one battery you'll also need a 8-amp regulator, part # TLA7715. This...

  • Adding an External Battery to a 2018 Interstate Trailer with Trailer Breakaway Kit
A trailer breakaway battery is a smaller battery that you definitely do not want to use to power the lights in your trailer with. As convenient as that would be, it could drain the battery enough that the breakaway battery would not activate your trailer brakes long enough to safely bring your trailer to a stop. • Solar Panels on Utility/Cargo Trailer With Option to Expand
You'd need a battery on your trailer to power the items you mentioned as a solar panel on a trailer would not have enough power for all of them at any given time. You'd want to use a solar panel like the # TLA7713 to charge that battery as needed but it would not be ideal for powering accessories directly. Refrigerators draw quite a bit of amperage so you'd need a decent battery plus possibly additional panels. With the Y-kit part # TLA7714 you can add more. Each of the # TLA7713 panels...

  • Powering Hydraulic Dump on Dump Trailer
If you are looking for something to power the dump on your dump trailer, I highly recommend an independent battery specifically for powering the dump trailer. We have a few different options for charging the battery on the dump trailer. Powering the dump off of the vehicle battery may put too much draw on the vehicle battery. • Can the Solar Power Kit for TorkLift PowerArmor Be Used Alongside Other Battery Chargers
The risk that you run of charging your batteries with multiple sources at once is overcharging them. This can also be an issue with a single source but not likely with what you mentioned because I would be willing to bet each of these has built-in protection form overcharging save for maybe the 12 volt pin on the 7-way but this most likely won't provide enough amps for this to occur. • Can Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent Be Connected To Solar Panel
I called my contact at Ventline and asked about part # VP-543SP. The fan is made of plastic.
