Features to know about

Lower Deck for Easier Loading: 4" Drop Axle Design

When you’re hauling gear, every inch of deck height matters. The 4" drop on this 89" long axle lowers the trailer for easier loading and unloading. It’s built with an underslung design, where the spring seats are welded to the underside of the beam for leaf spring mounting. The result is a lower center of gravity and a steady, controlled ride when you’re towing.

Smooth, Reliable Towing: Zero Camber Bend for Even Tire Contact

Uneven tire wear or sway can make long drives a chore. This round axle beam is precision-formed with a slight bend that creates a zero camber angle under load. That means even road-to-tread contact across your tires for straight-line stability and consistent tracking mile after mile. It’s engineered for steady, predictable towing so your trailer stays planted behind you.

Built to Last: High-Strength Steel and 40% Stronger Welds

Durability starts with the materials. This axle is made from high-strength steel and uses a patented welding process that produces 40% stronger welds to prevent spindle failure. It’s designed to handle up to 3,500 lbs of weight capacity, giving you confidence that the structure can take heavy use and rough roads without flexing or fatigue.

Simple Maintenance: Easy Grease Spindles with Built-In Zerk

Keeping bearings lubricated doesn’t have to be a pain. The Easy Grease spindles on this axle include a built-in grease zerk so you can add fresh grease without tearing everything apart. It’s compatible with L68149 inner and L44649 outer bearings and a 1.719"-ID seal, making it simple to service and keep rolling smooth.

Straightforward Fit and Setup: Pre-Welded Spring Seats and Certified Build

No guesswork required—spring seats and spindles come pre-welded in place with 74" spring-center and 89" hub-face measurements. The axle meets CSA, QAI, and SAE-N standards for quality and consistency, and weighs just 40 lbs for easy handling during installation. It’s a solid replacement or base for a custom setup that’s ready to bolt in and go.

2nd set of the wrong stlye axles received to find out etrailer didn't have those same dimension of old axle in stock!

by:

Had to return - I ordered wrong part. Couldn't get the size I needed from etrailer, so had to go elsewhere, unfortunately. Returns were hassle free!

by:

This is a quality axle that I will use on my single axle utility trailer. The axle is cambered and has the spring seats mounted. Just install your springs and hubs and you're ready to go! Great product!!!

by:

The axle fit great. Just what I ordered. The reason for 4 stars is because the packing did not protect the grease zurc on 1 side. There was a rubber guard that protected 1 side but not the other. Without the cover, the grease zurc was damaged during shipment.

by:

So far performing well. Have not been able to use trailer yet as much as I wanted to, don't use the grease nipples. Its easy to regrease without.

by:

Great price and good quality. 3500 lbs 4 in 74 in spring ct . Like center grease to rear bearing hole. Packed then removed zerk and then used bearing buddy

  • What Info is Needed to Install Drop Axle on Trailer
Hey David, there's a pretty good chance you could but it really comes down to by how much lower the drop axle is to determine if you have fender clearance. Generally you want to have at least 3 inches of fender clearance. So you'd need that as a minimum unless you'd be willing to raise the fenders up. To pick out an axle you'd need to know the capacity you need, distance between spring centers, and then distance from hub face to hub face.

  • Replacement 3,500 lb Axle With 4" Drop
Hi Robert; you will need your hub face measurement to find the right replacement axle. See the video attached below which explains how to measure. We have the 89" # e53GR or 95" # e83GR with the 4" drop. Since your spring center measurement is shorter you would also have to cut off the spring seats and weld on # TRSS238 to match what you have now. We don't have an option that comes with 5 on 5-1/2 hubs. However, you can add the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3.5K Axles #...

  • Looking For Replacement For Dexter 3,500 lb Axle Need Rear Axle Only
Hey thanks for reaching out, Dan. We do offer a few different sizes of 3,500 lb axles, but unfortunately we do not have anything that matches your specifications. Our 3,500 lb axles have hub face measurements of either 89" like part # T3584F-EZ-8974, or a 95" hub face like part # 7359765. So, much too long for your trailer. Since you are replacing just the rear axle, you will need the replacement axle to be identical. I suggest reaching out to dexter directly for this one. They offer a...

  • What Axle Is Compatible WIth The 5 on 5-1/2" Hubs AKIHUB-555-35-EZ-K?
Hello Jason, thanks for reaching out. The 5 on 5-1/2" hubs are pretty uncommon these days, so I am not surprised to hear that there are no complete axles that come with them. The Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-555-35-EZ-K you mentioned will fit any standard 3,500 lb axle. The hub uses the # L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) inner bearing and # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) outer bearing which is standard for the 3,500 lb axles. We offer a few compatible axles, like the...

  • Replacement Spindle and Axle Options For a 3,500LB Trailer Axle With Bent 4 Drop Spindle
It appears that the #84 E-Z Lube Spindle # TRU87FR is the correct spindle for your axle. You can confirm that this is the correct part by verifying the measurements of the spindle and brake flange. The landing for the grease seal is 1.719, the inner bearing is 1.378" and the outer bearing is 1.063". The brake flange bolts are 2-7/8" on center vertically and horizontally. This will also have a grease zerk allowing you to more easily fill your spindle and bearings with grease. Depending...

  • Replacement Axle And Disc Brake Kit For A 2013 MFI Boat Trailer
We do carry an 89" long axle with a 74" spring center. We have the # e53GR which is a 3,500 lb axle with a 4" drop. We also have the # e38GR which is a straight axle beam with no drop. We also have the disc brake kit # KOD59FR. This kit comes with everything. Including 5 on 4-1/2" hubs, bearings, seals, races, lug nuts, rotors, calipers and brake pads. If you want to keep the current calipers, I would need to know what brand you have, as the rotors and calipers are generally brand...

  • Can I Put Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK 35 SA on My Trailer if it Has a Plate Welded to Axle
The Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs Item # AKEBRK-35-SA is a complete brake assembly and not able to be used separately. The recommendation I have for you would be to purchase a new axle like the Trailer Axle Beam with Easy Grease Spindles - 4" Drop - 89" Long - 3,500 lbs # e53GR. With this new axle you will not have to with the back plate that is welded on to your current axle and your brakes and axle will all be new.

  • Can Old Hubs be Transferred to Newer 3,500 lb Axle
As long as your current hubs, bearings, and seals are all in good shape then you'll be okay installing them on the Trailer Axle Beam with Easy Grease Spindles # e53GR. It's also worth noting your hubs need to use the # L68149 inner bearing, the # L44649 outer bearing, and a grease seal with a 1.719" inner diameter. If all that matches up then you're good to go on fitment and you just need to make sure you repack the bearings and hub! Attached is a review video for you to check out.
