Question:

I am interested in a complete package tow bar, base plates, wiring, aux. brake, etc. to flat tow a 20025 Jeep wrangler sport S, auto trans, behind an Winnebago EKKO RV. Not sold on any brand for equipment. I do like the Curt wiring system just plug in. Also will I need power to charge the towed vehicle battery? Thank you

Hey Dellos, the Blue Ox base plate and tow bars are in my opinion the easiest to use and are also very well made so I would recommend the Blue Ox part # BX1139 with the tow bar part # BX7420.

Then for lighting the Curt kit part # C96JR is a very simple install so that would be a great choice as well.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles. You will need the outlet kit part # RM-9332 to power it since your battery will be disconnected.

A charge line is not required.

Sir: Thank you for your knowledge. I am a newbie, but willing to learn. Your last sentence above. Battery disconnected on the towed vehicle?? Why?? Will the Curt wiring harness work on the 2024 Wrangler Sport with LED taillights?? I had narrowed it down to the Roadmaster RM47ZR because of the LED taillights. Thanks for your help.. RTW

@Rtw A lot of vehicles have to have the battery of the vehicle disconnected when flat towed. Most of the time this is because the key has to be in the ON or ACC position to unlock the steering wheel but this would normally drain the vehicle battery. The lighting kits will still work though as the power for the towed vehicle taillights is drawn from the tow vehicle.
