Features to know about

Climbing Slippery Grades in Deep Snow: Grooved Square Links Bite Hard

When the snow stacks up and the road turns slick, the grooved square links on these pewag chains cut deep to keep you moving. The ladder pattern adds a steady forward pull that helps you climb grades or power through ice-packed ruts. Each 5.6 mm (0.22") thick link digs in with more edge than standard styles, giving you solid traction in deep snow, mud, and ice.

No-Fuss Tight Fit Every Time: Cam-Assisted Tension System

Getting a snug fit on your tire is fast and simple thanks to the built-in cams. Just twist the cams to pull the side chain tight and center it up. The assisted tension setup means less time adjusting and more time driving. For an even more secure hold, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be added.

Chains That Keep Going Season After Season: Reversible and Case-Hardened Steel

These chains are built to last. The reversible design lets you flip them over once one side shows wear, giving you double the life from a single set. Each link is made from nickel manganese alloy steel that resists rust and holds its strength through repeated use. The case-hardened finish gives them a tough outer shell to handle hard winter roads without cracking or snapping.

Ready for Wide Base Tires: Built for Big Contact and Stability

Designed for super-single and wide-base-rim tires from 15" to 17-1/2", this set gives your tires full coverage where it counts. The chain pattern stays stable across the width of the tire, making it ideal for wide tread surfaces that need firm grip in snow and ice.

Built for Demanding Winter Work: Durable Construction for On-Road Snow Use

Whether you’re running errands after a storm or tackling long grades in chain-up zones, these heavy-duty tire chains give you the traction and reliability you need. The solid ladder design and alloy steel construction keep performing in harsh winter conditions, season after season.

Step 1 of pewag Wide Base Tire Chain installation showing chains laid flat on the ground to check for tangles before placing on tire.

Step 2 of pewag Wide Base Tire Chain installation showing chains draped evenly over the top of a vehicle tire.

Step 3 of pewag Wide Base Tire Chain installation showing user connecting and tightening chain ends behind the tire.

Step 4 of pewag Wide Base Tire Chain installation showing cam tightening tool being used to twist and secure side chain around tire.

Step 5 of pewag Wide Base Tire Chain installation showing rechecking of tension and optional rubber adjusters on mounted chains.

Note

To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if they might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

They tracked the order every step of the way. Very informative the second you place a order. Great customer service! Product is perfect, can’t wait to try them out next storm

by:

These are great tire chains, love them for the plowing!

by:

Pewag products are top of the line and not for the faint of heart. We run Pewag chains on our
Firedepartment loader and now on my new Bronco...

by:

I ordered this set based on the recommendation from Jameson as to the benefits of the brand and set of chains. Ordered with three day shipping as I was leaving town and the chains arrived in one day. Haven't tried them yet as they are mostly need to carry this time of year.

by:

Easy to install and great traction in ice and deep snow. Would definitely buy again!

by:

These are great chains! They do give you a rather rough ride but I expect that from any square link snow chain. They grip great and are very strong.

by:

Great product - just what I was looking for - I bought from another site online, bad chains, broke, and didn't work, even damaged my ABS lines when they snapped. They refused any customer service or help. Your chains, received quick and they went right on, no issues - thanks so much for your quick and timely shipping.

by:

I did the research & I am VERY HAPPY with my decision to buy these snow chains. My tires are 35x12.5x18. The quality & looks are great. These chains will be last ones for my truck! Best Prices Here (etrailer.com)

by:

Excellent traction on snow and ice. Heavy duty textured square chains. Only the best for my 14,000# Mitsubishi Fuso FG 4x4.

by:

These are top quality chains.
They are
made of alloy rather than low carbon steel; which can break when you most need them, and even damage your rig.
Do yourself a favor, and invest in good quality USA made chain. Think about it. If you need chains, you are already in a bad situation to begin with. Spend the extra money to buy real chains. It's worth it.
The square link works very good on ice and snow, and also works great as mud chains for outdoorsman who spend time in the wilderness.

by:

I ordered the Pewag wide base tire chains on Sunday and they arrived on Wednesday. The chains are all they were said to be. High quality American made. Tire chains are a tool you hope you never need, but are invaluable when you do need them. I plan on using them on my wide profile tires on my F-350. A local municipality uses them on their plow truck all winter. The Pewags have lasted five seasons while lesser brands require replacement after one season.

by:

Ordered chains on a Fri afternoon (Pacific Time) and was a little concerned about delivery before my trip the following Thu. Pleasantly surprised to receive a response later that Friday evening that order was processed and already on its way. Chains arrived the following Tuesday with standard shipping. Didn't end up needing to use chains on my trip to Mammoth but glad I have them and the order processing by etrailer was excellent.

by:

The chains fit our Wrangler Rubicon well, and are really substantially built. I like the cam tensioners. I might add a rubber tension too just to keep everything tight when driving. Really appreciate the quick delivery!

by:

These are by far the BEST tire chains I've ever owned. These are for plowing in Maine winter, and these chains are massive! Talk about high quality and super heavy duty!
I put them on with ease. Fitment is perfect.
If you want the best chains on the market, get pewag. The camlock tool is equally heavy duty, big & strong.
I'm very happy with these awesome chains. Nothing's indestructible, but these certainly feel like it.

by:

Bought these tire chains for my Ford F-350. Had some days last winter when the driveway below the hill was all ice and plowing would be impossible without chains.
Perfect fit, easy installation and those cam locks are awesome for a tight fit.

by:

2nd set of the Pewag tire chains I purchased here in the last four years. Loved the first set, still use them here in Wisconsin and Montana. Needed to purchase another set to fit some larger oversized tires. Amy helped me out deciding which chains would best fit my needs and I still can't believe how fast she turned the order around and had them at my house the day before I was leaving for Montana. Can't get better service than that.

by:

Fits perfect and easy to install!!

by:

These Pewag chains are VERY heavy duty and seem to be well made and strong. The cam tighteners will make adjusting chains easier.
Service from etrailer was very helpful in getting the correct size for tires and vehicle, and the chains were shipped quickly.

by:

Awesome HD tire chains for on or off road use! 12" of snow and or compacted ice...

by:

Chains worked as designed. We use them in our trips to our farms in Montana and Wyoming when roads are open of course. Truck and trailer do not slip or fish tail.

by:

Pewag always has been the standard for chains that are designed to do the work when you have to get work done. The fit was as expected you just have to tie back the tails on the inside where they don’t hit the strut tower. A couple of zip ties works
Thanks Tim for the help

by:

Shipping was extremely fast , received my order in 2 days . Chains are high quality and should last a long time. Bought these for all 4 tires of my ‘01 Ford F-350 , tires are BFG All Terrains Lt285-75-R16. They fit perfectly, will probably be cutting 2 links off of the backside where the two ends hook together. The chains came.2 per sack with a cam tightening tool in each sack. I modified the tool to make it easier to use when your hands are frozen.

by:

We haven't had any snow since purchase.

by:

I had never worked with this company and I needed tire chains for our tractor. I went online, ordered them and they were delivered before the estimated time of arrival. I will certainly use this company again.

  • Recommended Tire Chains for 1996 Ford Bronco with 31x10.50-15 and Chevy 2500 with 265/70-16 Tires
For your 1996 Ford Bronco with 31 x 10.50-15 tires I recommend the Pewag square link tire chains, part # PWE3210SC. A lot of chains are made with a hard metal on the exterior but are much softer once you get through the outer layer, but not these. They're made of a high quality manganese alloy steel that's solid all the way through. They also have cam tighteners that are easy to use. The square links provide maximum contact and dig into the ice and snow compared to twist link chains. Go...

  • Recommended Snow Tire Chains for 31x10.5-15 Tires
I have linked the page to all your options for 31x10.5-15 tires. If you have minimal clearance on the inside of your tire between the frame and sidewall, then the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains # PW3010C are your best option. If you want the best traction, then the Pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains with Cam Tighteners for Wide-Base Tires # PWE3210SC are the best option and have the integrated adjusters. They will provide the best traction in snow and mud. I've attached a couple articles...

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for Toolcat with Snowblower on Paved Surfaces
The ToolCat has a very aggresive tread pattern, so for a flat drive I would recommend working it without chains. For the best performance, I would recommend going with the Pewag All Square Tire Chains, # PWE3210SC, that you referenced. The square link chains have an edge that will help grip on ice and in heavy snow conditions. These will be likely to mark your drive some. The in between option is snow cables like Glacier # PW3010C. I suspect these will only give you a bit more traction...

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for a Bobcat with 27x10.5-15 Tires
For a heavy duty set of tire chains confirmed to fit the tire size you have on your Bobcat I would recommend the Pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains # PWE3210SC. If you plan on using the Bobcat on any asphalt you will want to be very careful with these chains installed and remove them immediately if you get to dry pavement as they will tear up the asphalt/concrete.

  • Tire Chain Recommendations for a 2012 or 2013 Chevy Express 15 Passenger Van
I went by a 2013 Chevy Express Van and put it through our fit guide to find chains. There are two tire size options listed, 245/70-17 and 245/75-16. I will provide some recommendations for each size for you. First for the 245/70-17 if you plan on infrequent use then going with a set of cables, # PW3010C, with rubber adjusters # PW99 would be the way to go. Cables are great if you seldom need chains and/or live in an area where chains are not required by law. For frequent use and/or if...

  • Pewag Square Link Tire Chains for Ford F-350 with Slide-In Truck Camper
The weight of your F-350 with its slide-in truck camper is not in itself an issue for tire chains so long as you avoid driving on bare or nearly-bare pavement. The truck's weight will work to your advantage in that it will help the chains dig in to hard packed snow and ice, but driving them on pavement will increase wear. Generally for heavy-duty truck applications we like to recommend square link chains like the Pewag All Square set # PWE3210SC because they are more durable. These chains...

With 4WD vehicles, one set is usually plenty and are placed on the rear tires, however, if you live in a region with a lot of snow and ice, adding the second set will assist with better steering and braking. Without knowing what size tires you have on your 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee, my research shows you could have either 245/70-17, 265/60-18 or 265/50-20.
