Video Transcript for Camco Olympian Wave Catalytic Safety Heater Manufacturer Review

Our Olympian heaters are designed and built to provide years of comfortable radiant heat and economical LP gas consumption. Not only are our heaters efficient but they are safe, as well. Because of the integrated double platinum catalytic heating system, no harmful amounts of waste gases are produced. Most heaters are equipped with low-quality materials, which obstruct oxygen flow. This can lead to gas being released without burning, resulting in serious health hazards. The Olympian catalytic heating element features a low-density, spongy texture which allows for perfect transport of the oxygen needed for combustion.

The catalytic heating element is evenly impregnated with platinum. These added safety features ensure proper elimination of the mix of dangerous gas emissions. Olympian heaters produce radiant heat as a result of the catalytic combustion process. Like the sun, Olympian heaters radiate heat directly to people, floors, walls and other objects without heating the air first, so warmth is felt immediately. Radiant heat is absorbed by objects and then emitted into the air and heat the surrounding area. Therefore, your Olympian heater should be oriented to direct its warming rays toward the space to be heated, much like a flood light is positioned to illuminate a desired area. If installing in the interior of your RV or boat's cabin, it is recommended to have a certified technician handle the installation.

This will ensure the installation meets local codes. Please read all directions and warnings in your instruction manual. Keep it in a safe place for future reference. When choosing a location to install, be sure that the heater is located out of traffic and away from furniture and draperies. To assure complete combustion, it is necessary for the room to have an adequate fresh air supply.

Turn heat control knob to Start Off position. Make sure gas supply is turned on and gas is available at the heater. Depress control knob firmly for 10 seconds. This will allow gas to flow into the gas lines, removing any air. You should hear gas flowing to the heater pad.

While continuing to hold the control knob in, press Piezo Sparker button 1 or more times until gas flame spreader is lit. The flame spreader should now be on. If not, repeat pressing Piezo Sparker button until flame spreader is lit. After initial ignition occurs, keep control knob depressed for 45- 60 seconds maximum. Release the control knob, push knob in slightly, and immediately turn it to high heat setting. The initial small blue flames should become extinguished and the catalytic combustion process is now taking place. If catalytic pad ignition fails to start up, wait 5 minutes and try again. Allow the heater to operate on high for 10 minutes to assure even heating of the catalyst pad. You may now set to Low or Medium. To turn the heater off, turn the control knob to the Off position. It is recommended that the heater be kept covered at all times when not in use. Custom made dust covers are available from the factory or your local dealer. .

  • Air Conditioner and Heater for Cargo Trailer
Hey Harry! For an AC system on your 6 x 12 cargo trailer I recommend one of the following: -Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Manual - 13,500 Btu - White - R32 # ADV23SR -Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System - Manual - 13,500 Btu - White - R32 # ADV45SR The only real difference here is the one unit is low profile. This has a lower capacity and is set up for a ductless system which is what your trailer will be. Keep in mind, these aren't approved for a cargo trailer and...

The only thing I was able to find was a forum where some others shared what they checked and tried. 1: Hold the knob in longer - When lighting the heater, press and hold the control knob for a full 90 seconds - Letting go too soon will cause a click and shut-off 2: Make sure the heater is warm before releasing...

  • Hose Needed For The Olympian Wave 3 Heater To Run Off A 1lb Propane Tank
The Camco Olympian Wave 3 Catalytic Safety Heater for Small RVs # CAM57331 can be connected to a 1lb propane tank using a hose like part # CAM57703 and an adapter like part # 37207-30205. This heater can draw 1,600 to 3,000 btu's depending on how high you have it set. 1lb of propane is equal to approximately 23,000 btu's so you'd have roughly 8 hours of heat from a 1lb propane tank.

  • How to Permanently Install the Camco Olympian Wave 3 Heater Part # CAM57331
If you will be permanently installing the Camco Olympian Wave 3 Catalytic Safety Heater part # CAM57331 then you would need to run a hose from the heater to the propane manifold. I cannot recommend you tap or splice into an existing line. The fitting on the end of the heater is a 3/8" male flare. You would then need a hose with a female 3/8" flare and then whatever is on your propane manifold. Since you will need to possibly alter or connect to the propane manifold on your trailer I highly...

The Camco Olympian Wave 3 Catalytic Safety Heater for Small RVs part # CAM57331 does not come with a thermostat. I am not really sure how that would work on a propane heater as such but we do have an electric heater with a built-in thermostat, the Arcon Compact Ceramic Heater with Tip-Over Safety Switch part # AR64409. • Is Shut-Off Valve Required To Install Camco Olympian Wave 3 Heater CAM57331?
There is not reason you cannot add an additional shut off between your propane lines and the Camco Olympian Wave 3 Catalytic Safety Heater for Small RVs # CAM57331 you were looking at, but it is not required. Personally I would use propane hose as it does not require soldering compared to copper pipe. The # CAM57331 requires a 3/8" female flare so a hose like the # 37207-30925 which is 3' long and would allow you to connect to the heater to the propane line on the trailer. They are available...
