Hello neighbor, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at our etrailer dual swivel jack with bolt-on mounting plate kit. You're gonna get two side wind jacks that have fifteen and a half inches of travel rated at 3000 pounds capacity. So I wanna start off with some quick dimensions to make sure this is gonna fit your trailer application. Retracted up to the center of the mounting pipe hole is fifteen and five eighth inches, and then that height overall would be 31 and one eighth inches when it's fully extended. Now if that's too tall for you, we offer this in a shorter 10 inch travel option.
I'll put that item number on the screen for you. So again, folks, you're gonna get the two jacks and the two bolt-on mounting plates. These are two nice heavy duty side-wind jacks, they rated at 3000 pounds lift capacity and 5,000 pounds of support capacity. As you probably already know, they're pipe mounted. So if you're not a welder, no need to worry.
Simply take that, set it aside somewhere, and then you'll mount the etrailer no weld mounting plate to your trailer frame. And the way that works is your trailer frame would sit here. You're gonna need no more than three inches of depth on the cross section, so that would sit here. Use the center punch, mark your holes, drill out the holes per the instructions that are included with this bracket. Use the bolts, mount that to the frame.
Once that's tight, you can mount your jack and then swivel it up or down as needed whenever you're on the road. Now, why would you use two jacks on the trailer Well, you're gonna use 'em for support. So at the back of your trailer, you mount one on the left side, one on the rear, potentially near the back end of the trailer, maybe even possibly behind the rear axles; halfway between the back and that location of the rear axles. And that's gonna give you clearance to swivel the jack up and outta the way, clearance for the handle to clear fenders and everything like that, and it's gonna be support. So when you're loading, you're going over the ramps and you're cresting the top back part of the trailer, these two support jacks would help stabilize; not let the trailer kind of tilt up or down while you're loading, unloading.
That's gonna help keep your ramps safely on the back end of the trailer. It's gonna help support that so it's not pushing up on the tongue of the trailer, which in turn pulls up on the back end of your tow vehicle. You could also potentially use these in case of a flat tire situation, jack up one side of the back end of the trailer and get that spare tire ready and change out a flat tire. So some quick dimensions. The bottom foot plate here is seven and a half inches long by three and three quarters, and I gave you the height and everything on that image, but I'll go ahead and throw that image back up real quick for you. Once again, retracted fifteen and five eighths to the center and 31 and one eighth fully extended. Now everything here is a nice black powder coat finish. You've get a grease circle on the back of each jack. That's for greasing it up and keeping up the gear maintenance here so that it's nice and grease and lubricated, and doesn't burn up on you over time and those kind of things. Now, everything that is the silver kind of color, that's a zinc finish. It's gonna be nice corrosion resistance, gonna resist rust and it just looks good. The side wind handle here is a nice, heavy duty hard plastic handle casing that's gonna rotate as you're cranking that jack, and it spins nice and freely and keeps everything just ergonomically easier for you when you're going up or down. Well folks, I think that we'll wrap it up for our quick look today at this dual swivel jack kit here by etrailer. I'm Steven, thanks for watching. As always, stay safe while you're towing.
