Question:
I run a big truck camper over 6k lbs in my ford. Will these chains hold up with that kind of weight?

Expert Reply:
The weight of your F-350 with its slide-in truck camper is not in itself an issue for tire chains so long as you avoid driving on bare or nearly-bare pavement. The truck's weight will work to your advantage in that it will help the chains dig in to hard packed snow and ice, but driving them on pavement will increase wear.
Generally for heavy-duty truck applications we like to recommend square link chains like the Pewag All Square set # PWE3210SC because they are more durable. These chains are reversible, allowing you to literally flip them over once they are worn and use the other side. The nickel-manganese alloy steel links are almost 6mm thick so they will provide both excellent bite and longer service than standard chains. These can be used in dual tire applications.
Tire chains are compatible with specific tire sizes. The linked page will let you select your tire size to then view all chains that fit those tires. You can also refer to the linked article for more general information about tire chains.
