Features to know about

Installs Without Cutting or Splicing: Plug-In Harness

Wiring a trailer can be tricky, but this harness keeps it simple. The Curt T-Connector plugs right into existing factory wiring under the trunk liner, so there’s no need to cut or splice any wires. It includes a powered converter and all the hardware needed for a complete install, giving you a clean setup with factory-style connections.

Comparison image of CURT vehicle wiring harnesses, displaying multiple plug-in connectors and 4-way flat trailer connector ends for various models, showing product differences in design and configuration.

Protects Wiring from Corrosion: 4-Way Stored Inside the Vehicle

Having the 4-way connector stored inside the vehicle keeps it out of the rain and road debris that cause corrosion and damage. When it’s time to tow, just run the connector out through the rear hatch and hook up your trailer. This small detail makes a big difference in how long your wiring lasts and how reliably it works.

Adds a 4-Pole Flat Connector: Ready for Trailer Lights

Once installed, the harness provides a standard 4-pole flat connector for your trailer’s running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. It’s powered through an included 10-amp in-line fuse that connects to the vehicle’s battery, so your trailer lights get consistent power without overloading factory circuits.

Upgradable for Brake Controllers: Works with ETBC7 Kits

If you ever need to tow with electric brakes or add a 7-way connector, this harness is a solid starting point. With the 4-pole already in place, you can pair it with a kit like part # ETBC7 to hardwire a 7-way and add a brake controller. This setup gives you flexibility for towing different trailers down the road.

We're happy with the wiring. It works just like it says. We would order from retailer again.

by:

Instuctions included were precise. Connecting the 'hot wire' the battery was inconvenient for an older guy, but less than an hour to complete.

by:

Unlike other trailer hitch kits, this one easily installed and works well.
Arrived on time as promised; I did choose UPS for shipping which was more expensive however received kit on time.

Everything worked great. However there is no need to run the long black wire to the battery as the Mulano has a hot wire there already for use. You should add that to your manual. Thanks.

Working great! Note what I said in original Al post about not needing to run the black wire to the battery on the Murano.

  • Best Trailer Towing Setup for a 2006 Nissan Murano
The wiring you need is the Curt T-Connector # C49KR wiring kit as it is the only one available for your 2006 Nissan Murano. For a trailer hitch I recommend going with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13571 which is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a Gross Towing Weight (GTW) rating of 3,500 lbs and a max Tongue Weight (TW) rating of 350 lbs but you will want to check the weight capacity rating of your Murano in your owner's manual to ensure that you do not exceed the lower...

  • Tailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2007 Nissan Murano to Tow a Rental Trailer
Rental places like Uhaul require that your 2007 Nissan Murano has a trailer hitch rated for the weight of the trailer, a trailer wiring harness to activate the trailer lights, and accessories such as a ball mount and ball. But if the trailer has surge brakes or electric brakes you will need some additional equipment such as a brake controller and 5- or 7-Way trailer connector. Starting with a trailer hitch you can use Curt hitch # 13571. It is rated for 350 pounds tongue weight and 3,500...

  • Trailer Wiring and Brake Controller Recommendation for 2007 Nissan Murano
You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one) installed on your 2007 Nissan Murano. For that you would want the # C49KR which is a confirmed fit and would work well. Now if your trailer does not have brakes all you would need is the part # 37185 as an adapter to convert the 4-way to a 7-way. If you do have trailer brakes, you would need the # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185 and a brake controller. This kit comes with everything needed to wire up the 7-way and install a brake...

  • How To Mount And Wire A Brake Controller To A Nissan Murano
The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # C49KR, is a wiring harness for a 2006 to 2007 Nissan Murano. If you do not have a 4-Pole flat connector on your Murano this harness will give you a 4-Pole flat trailer connector on the back of your Murano. If you already have a 4-Pole on your vehicle you will not need this part. The Curt wiring harness will plug into existing sockets on the vehicles wiring harness, located under the trunk liner in the rear cargo area. You will also need...

  • Is a Square or Round Tube Trailer Hitch Stronger for a 2006 Nissan Murano
No matter how a hitch is constructed, round or square, they are all built for and tested for a certain capacity based on many factors. Two different hitches, one with a round tube and one with a square tube, that have the same capacity will be equally as strong. They have to be to reach the rating they are given. With that said I am of the opinion that square is stronger in the long run. Any of the hitches we carry for the 2006 Nissan Murano are rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight...

  • Do you have a Photo of The Draw-Tite Hitch for the 2006 Nissan Murano
Yes, the photo on our web page is of the actual hitch. If you mouse over the image links below the title you will see more actual pictures of the hitch and the display image shows the hitch from the underside of the vehicle. The Photo of the Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch, item # 75148, is also the actual photo but we have not had the opportunity to photograph it on the vehicle. We also have a video installation of the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch on a 2007 model Nissan Murano (see link)....

  • Can a 1952 Terry Trailer Be Towed By a 2006 Nissan Murano and What Parts Will Be Needed
To get the weight of your 1952 Terry trailer I would try to see if it has any type of identification plate or sticker on the trailer itself or the trailer axle that might indicate the weight of the trailer. The other choice if you cannot find a plate is to get it weighed on a local commercial scale at a truck stop, quarry or material supply center. I am including a link to a FAQ page that will talk about determining the weight of your trailer. After you find out the weight of your empty...

  • Where Does 4-Way of 2007 Nissan Murano Store
Having the 4-way run out of the back hatch is actually the preferred method although it seems like it wouldn't be. Having the 4-way stored inside the cab of the vehicle keeps it protected from rain and moisture to prevent corrosion and keeps it protected from damage to the wiring or connector by rocks or debris that might be on the highway. We see trailer wiring issues here daily and most of them are caused by corrosion in the trailer wiring pins due to the connector be stored outside...

  • Exhaust Must be Lowered for Installation of the Curt # 13571 Trailer Hitch on a 2006 Nissan Murano S
I spoke with the technical department at Curt Manufacturing and found that installation of the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, item # 13571, on the 2006 Nissan Murano S model requires lowering the exhaust on both sides of the vehicle, for installation of the hitch. You do not need to bend or manipulate the exhaust in any other way and when the install is complete you will return the exhaust to its factory position.
