Question:

Good afternoon. I have a brand new 2027 Honda Pilot that I would like to add a hitch to for a vertical bike. Is there one available for this vehicle? Thanks for your time.

There sure is Jenny and congrats on your new SUV! To add a hitch to your 2027 Honda Pilot that works with a vertical bike rack, I recommend the Blue Ox item # blu35vj. This hitch is custom fit and comes with all hardware necessary to complete the installation.

The Blue Ox item # blu35vj is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver that has a 6,000 lbs towing capacity and a maximum tongue weight of 600 lbs. It'll work great for your vertical bike rack and give you the option to tow a decent sized trailer if you ever get the opportunity or have one of those too.

Please note that unlike other brand hitches, Blue Ox has approved their class III hitches to be used with vertical bike racks so long as you do not exceed the tongue weight capacity. The receiver sleeve is long enough to accept the longer shanks that vertical bike racks like item # TH83VA have.

Here are some other parts I recommend using for mounting a vertical bike rack on your 2027 Honda Pilot:

Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar - etrailer item # e38FV

Wiring for Lights - Curt T-Connector item # C48ZV

Mounting Brackets - Mounting Bracket for 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # C42CR and item # C83DR

Which vertical rack do you plan on using, and how many bikes are you going to carry? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.

Thank you so much. I didn't think about needing lights. Idk what bike rack I'm going with yet. We've got 6 bikes total. I like the Thule ReVert though.

@Jenny You're welcome! Yeah it's nice and helpful when you're driving at night. Safety wise it's a good idea plus you limit the risk of being pulled over.
