Features to know about

Stay Level Under Heavy Loads: 6,000-lb Rear Axle Support

When the rear end sags from a heavy trailer or bed load, steering and braking can get unstable. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System adds 6,000 lbs of extra support using hollow Aeon rubber springs that sit above the axle. They compress progressively—soft for light loads, firm when the weight builds—to keep your vehicle level and balanced without losing suspension travel. The result is steadier handling, better traction, and smoother braking even when towing or hauling serious weight.

Smooth Out the Rough Stuff: Hollow Rubber Springs Absorb Road Shock

Rough roads and bumps don’t have to mean a rough ride. The hollow rubber springs absorb most of the road shock before it hits your suspension, reducing bounce and jolts when loaded. Their elastic rubber construction cushions the impact while taking strain off your factory suspension, helping prevent bottoming out on uneven terrain or when carrying heavy gear.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When curves, off-center loads, or crosswinds try to throw you off balance, each Timbren spring works independently to keep its side planted. That independent action cuts down on body roll and sway so you stay stable through corners or when a passing semi pushes air your way. Less movement from your vehicle also means less sway passed along to the trailer, keeping everything tracking straight down the road.

Install It Once and Get Back to Work: Simple No-Drill Mounting

Adding real load support doesn’t have to mean complicated setup. The Timbren system replaces the factory bump stops with custom-fit brackets and hardware—no drilling required. Once bolted in place, there are no airlines, compressors, or manual adjustments to mess with. It’s a straightforward install that gives you a maintenance-free setup ready to handle heavy loads whenever you are.

I ordered the Happy Jack camper system and the Timbren overload package for my 1999 Ford Super Duty. Both items showed up quickly and were very easy to install. Directions helped but they fit perfectly and were described on etrailers’ website perfectly. I will continue to shop etrailer. Thank you

Solid quality product and certainly helped with my above .75ton extra load configuration need. I give it a thumbs up and easy install. My application is a "small" camper with a wet weight of about 2000 pounds on a Ford F250; this certainly helped with conering roll stablity and less work on the overload springs.

2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Super easy install on a 2000 Ford F250 super duty. I haul a 24 foot enclosed snowmobile trailer in the mountains which sagged the rear bumber by two inches. These Timbrens split that in half so I gained better front end control. Very important while in the snow!
Very happy with them.

2000 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty
very easy to install, took about 30 minutes, didn't jack up the vehicle or take off tires, just dropped spare tire out of the way and went to work. Haven't towed my 5th wheel yet, but I am confident that this product will stop my truck from sagging so much under the load.

As the other reviewers noted, these rubber springs were extremely easy to instal. The greatest difficulty was the removal of the existing rubber blocks.

These springs have added ample capacity to my truck and have relieved a lot of pressure from my leaf springs. I recommend them!

2000 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty
Had Timbren rear suspension system installed on my F250 Super Duty. I use with a 3horse heavier blt trailer with 8ft short wall. I can't believe how much more stable the truck feels with this system. Love it and would most certainly recommend this system be added to their truck. I wish I knew years ago to add this system to my truck.

I wanted to reach out about the system not appearing how we have it pictured on site. What was different about the kit that you received?

by:
2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty
I haven't used the Timbren suspension enhancement for my F250 as of yet. The shipping was fast and they product came as advertised. It was easy to install and looks great. I think that it will work great when I hook up to my fifth wheel.
by:
Ford F-250 Super Duty
Prompt shipping, and the product appears to be just as described. These springs were easy to install, once I got the factory bumps off. I carry over a ton in my F250 daily, and these raised it back up a good inch with the load on.
by:
2009 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Items received ahead of delivery date. Installed on 2000 F250 diesel and pulled our 2009 32 foot Sandpiper 5th wheel with awesome results. The rear of the truck didn't sag nearly as much under the 1,800 lb pin weight and the handling was vastly improved. Once the truck settled down the 1 1/2 inches of air gap between the bottom of the bumper and the axle, the truck didn't sag any more. Great product for the price, easy to install and performes as advertised.
by:
Bought these to help with 5th wheel load. Really works well.We are full timer RVers so they get a work out for a bit. Would recommend.

Easy installation on 1993 F-150. Used both main rubber Spring & added plate with longest bolt. Looking forward to seeing reduced squat during loading the bed.
by:
Work great to keep my truck from sagging when I pull my equipment trailer, smooth normal ride with empty truck, easy to install with no maintenance

This is the second order I have placed and trailer was fair priced, quick, and a great product. Thanks

  • Is There A Limit On How Many Spacers I Can Use With Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System?
Hey good question, Adam. There is not a specific limit on how many spacers you can use with Timbrens. Most trucks that use Timbrens would not be lifted more than 4"-6" anyway, and I have heard of people using up to 6 spacers on each side. I probably would not recommend doing more than that though. If you need to add another 1" spacer or two, you will be fine to do so as long as you can get long enough bolts. We have the 1" spacers with 3/8" bushing available as part # A25723-90AH00.

  • Can Timbrens Be Used On A Truck With Front And Rear Stock Sway Bars?
Hello Adam, thanks for reaching out. I have heard of people using Timbrens in conjunction with sway bars. I have not heard of the two interfering with each other. I have heard of the Timbrens making the ride more stiff in certain situations. They do a great job of adding support when you are loaded down, but they can make the ride more stiff when you are unloaded since they may not be making constant contact with the axle. But if your goal is to add support when you are towing or hauling,...

  • Compression Size of the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System TFR150SDE
At its full capacity the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System item # TFR150SDE will compress to 50% of its normal size. I just spoke with my rep at Timbren. The spring portion of the SES is 3-3/4" tall and it compresses to just under 2" when a 6,000 lbs load is placed on it. It will not stick out past the sides of the 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" bracket when it is fully compressed.

  • Will Air Lift Air Bags Fit on a 1994 Ford F-250/F-350 with a 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installed
If the 5th wheel hitch install kit brackets that attach to the frame are the universal L-brackets (two per side) then it is possible to use Air Lift air bags # AL88215 on a 1994 Ford F-250/F-350. But it is still possible for there to be interference which is why it is listed in our fit guide as NOT being compatible. What will work for sure is a set of Timbren springs because the mount to the bottoms of the frame rails and will not interfere with any 5th wheel brackets. If you have an...

  • Rear Helper Springs to Reduce Squat on the Back of a 1999 Ford F-250 Towing 12K Dump Trailer
For your 1999 Ford F-250 4x2 the Timbren springs # TFR150SDE are a great option. The 6,000 pound rating is for the whole system and that is the vertical load limit. So even if the trailer was loaded to 12,000 pounds gross weight it still would not even come close to producing 6,000 pounds of vertical load so no worries! It will definitely help with the squat and improve ride quality while towing. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation for you.

  • Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement for a 1989 Ford F-250 GVW of 6600 lbs
You can install either the 6,000 lb system, # TFR250SDE, or the 8,600 lb system, # TFR350SDE, on your truck, but they will not increase the weight carrying capacity of your truck. You will still be limited to the weight capacity that Ford has set for your truck. These springs were designed to work with your factory suspension to help reduce sag and improve safety and handling when hauling heavy loads. I would recommend installing the 6,000 lb springs because you are not gaining an advantage...

  • Rear Suspension Enhancement System for a 2000 Ford F-250 4x4 Towing Gooseneck Trailer
The best rear suspension enhancement product for your 2000 Ford F-250 is going to depend on a couple things. First, how your gooseneck hitch is attached to the frame of your truck and second, whether you prefer adjustable air springs or fixed rubber springs. For an air spring system, I recommend installing the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs, # F2550, that you referenced. • How To Fix 1" Gap After Installing Timbrens On a 2000 Ford F-250
The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TFR150SDE which is a fit for a 2000 Ford F-250 is designed to produce around 1/2" - 1-1/2" gap. It will still work to reduce sag/squat with a gap but not till the threshold of the suspension is reached. Some prefer more of a buffer than others since the ride can be rougher when engaged. Nevertheless, you can use the spacer part # A25723-90AH00 for 1" or part # TA25722-90P00 for 1/2" to close the gap.

  • Weight Distribution or Suspension Enhancement for my 1995 Ford F-250
It appears all of your weights are inline. If you load your trailer with about 700 lbs of tongue weight sway will not be an issue. There is not a great deal of profile for wind or a passing semi to get a hold of or a weight issue your dealing with as you can move the car forward or rearward to get the right tongue weight. With a tow rating of around 10,000 lbs. and a 5,500 lb. trailer you should not experience a great deal of sagging and I would not want to mess with weight distribution...

  • Helper Springs for a 2000 Ford F-250 Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer
For your 2000 Ford F-250 towing a 5th wheel trailer I recommend the Timbren helper springs but the ones you will need are # TFR150SDE because the other ones you mentioned are for Severe Service vehicles only. Since you need support from towing a 5th wheel trailer the Timbrens are a better option than air bags. This is because the load weight and position will basically be exactly the same every time which is what Timbrens are good for. Air bags are better if you carry uneven load frequently...

For your 2000 Ford F-250, I recommend using the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TFR150SDE. This is a confirmed fit for your truck, won't be an issue with your underbed B&W gooseneck hitch, and will provide some shock absorption and load support. These will also give you independent side to side support. • Better Ride on Rough Roads for a 1997 Ford F-250HD
I am sure there are some tires that you could use but the tires that we carry would not work since they are designed for trailer use only. Another possible solution is to change the suspension or add suspension enhancement. Using Timbren springs, # TFR150SDE for 2-wheel drive or # TFR250SDE for 4-wheel drive, will lessen the travel in the stock suspension and take the bite out of bumps and pot holes. I have linked videos showing installations of each.

Most gooseneck hitches install directly over the rear axle, and have bracketry that attaches to the outside of the truck frame. If you look at the air spring install diagram I provided, you can see that the # F2071 installs directly over the axle and the springs attach to the outside of the frame member. • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2000 Ford F250 Towing a 5th Wheel
How you use your truck will decide whether you need a passive-type system or something adjustable. A passive system like the Timbren Aeon Springs, part # TFR150SDE won't have any effect on your truck's ride until a load is placed on your rear suspension (whether it's cargo in the bed or the pin weight from your 5th wheel). A space of 5-5/8 is very little. Especially on a lifted truck. It sounds like you're not measuring the correct location or your suspension is pretty worn out. The Timbren # TFR150SDE system you're looking at is the correct kit for your 1999 Ford F-250 and must have at least 6-3/4 inches between the frame and the axle. If you're measuring from the bump stop the axle this would make sense. The bushing shouldn't be much from the frame.

The Timbren springs are more ideal when the load in your truck bed is constant, such as a trailer. To greatly reduce the sag you're getting with the 5th wheel trailer hooked up to your 1999 Ford F-250 I recommend adding the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TFR150SDE. This is because the heavy-duty aeon rubber springs used for the Timbren systems offer a bit more support than the urethane constructed springs on the SumoSprings.
