Question:
I have a 1997 F250HD, Diesel, their short bed which is 7 feet, and a Pull Rite fifth wheel. I would like to install a set of air bags but would like a little help on which set up would be best. I looked at the Firestone set as well as the Air Lift 5000. Can you help with this? Thanks

Expert Reply:
For your 1997 Ford F-250 HD, I recommend installing the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement Springs, # TFR150SDE, for a 2 wheel drive, and # TFR250SDE, for a 4 wheel drive.
These springs will fit models with or without factory top overload springs and there is no drilling required to install. I have attached links to the installation instructions as well as links to installation videos. You will notice that the trucks in the videos are different model years than your F-250, but the installation process will be similar.
Keep in mind, the Timbren springs or an air bag system will not increase the payload or towing capacity of your truck. They are designed to assist your vehicles existing suspension to reduce sag and improve handling and stabilization.
