Recommended Rear Suspension Enhancement for 1999 Ford F-250 to Reduce Sag with 5th Wheel Trailer
Published 03/01/2019 >
Question:
For use towing a 5th wheel trailer with GVWR 11,580 lbs. Im looking for a helper spring to reduce rear suspension sag on my 99foot F-250 SD 4x4. Currently I like what the Timbren TFR150SDE and Sumo Springs SSR-114-54 has to offer but unsure which of the two will be the best solution. Looking for guidance which of the two products may provide a better ride response when under load. Thank you for your time and review of this question.

To greatly reduce the sag you're getting with the 5th wheel trailer hooked up to your 1999 Ford F-250 I recommend adding the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TFR150SDE.
This is because the heavy-duty aeon rubber springs used for the Timbren systems offer a bit more support than the urethane constructed springs on the SumoSprings. This will allow for a more level and smoother ride when the truck is under load. This along with the Timbren's overall higher capacity (6,000 pounds compared to 2,800 pounds on the SumoSprings) makes them the best option for enhancing the rear suspension of your truck so that it can better handle your trailer's pin weight.
The Timbren springs will simply replace the factory bump stops on the truck for a simple, no-drill installation and once they are in place you are left with a maintenance (and worry) free setup.
I have attached an installation video that you can also use for reference.
