Question:

Maybe Im not able to do it on my phone... but is there a kit available to put air bags on a 94 ford f250 with a gooseneck hitch installed on it? Sorry in advance if there is, Ive been looking over an hour and just cant find one. Also, could you tell me how wide the bag is, and if its centered over the leaf springs? This truck has real wide tires on it and I have about 7 3/4inch of space between the frame and the closest part of the tiredirectly over the axle, so I know its gonna be close Thanks!

Most gooseneck hitches install directly over the rear axle, and have bracketry that attaches to the outside of the truck frame. If you look at the air spring install diagram I provided, you can see that the # F2071 installs directly over the axle and the springs attach to the outside of the frame member. The gooseneck hitch would probably prevent you from installing the air springs, but you can look at the diagram and compare it to the placement of the gooseneck mounting brackets on your frame to see for yourself if things would coexist.

When installed, the Firestone # F2071 kit requires at least 7-1/2 inches of clearance between the truck frame and the inside of the tire. The kit is meant for trucks with a GVWR over 8500 lbs. Your GVWR should be listed on the plate or sticker on the drivers side door jamb.

You might be interested in the Timbren Aeon Springs, # TFR250SDE for 4WD models or # TFR150SDE for 2WD models. The Timbren springs mount to the underside of the frame members, replacing the factory bump stops. You would need to look at the instructions for each to see where they mount, but there is a good chance they would not interfere with the mounts for your gooseneck hitch. Timbren springs will get progressively stiffer as more weight is added to them, but will not affect the vehicle ride when the truck is not loaded or towing. Because there is no air involved, there is no fear of leaks.
