Features to know about

Stay Level Under Load: 3,000-lb Rear Suspension Support

When heavy cargo or a trailer makes the rear end drop, these hollow rubber springs step in to hold things steady. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System adds up to 3,000 lbs of support above the rear axle, reducing sag and helping your leaf springs handle the weight. The resistance builds as more load is added, keeping your ride level and improving steering, traction, and braking when you’re towing or hauling a full bed.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Progressive Rubber Springs Absorb Shock

Every bump and dip can wear you down when the suspension bottoms out. The Aeon hollow rubber springs compress progressively—soft at first for comfort, then firming up as weight increases. This design cushions light loads, absorbs road shock, and prevents bottoming out on rough terrain. You get a smoother ride while extending the life of your factory suspension components.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When you hit a curve or an uneven road with a load off to one side, the springs work independently to control body roll and sway. Each side supports only when needed, so your vehicle stays balanced even with off-center weight. The steadier handling also helps reduce trailer sway from gusts or passing trucks, giving you a calmer drive on highways and backroads alike.

Get It Done Without Complications: Simple Bolt-On Install

Adding real support doesn’t have to be complicated. This kit replaces your factory bump stops using vehicle-specific brackets and hardware—no drilling required. With the inch of clearance between spring and axle, your stock suspension moves freely under light loads but firms up automatically when you need it. It’s a straightforward way to upgrade handling and stability without air lines, compressors, or adjustments.

Stiffens and corrects kneel in rear end of 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500. You will notice a stiffening of the rear end suspension while unloaded, but it’s a fair trade off to prevent sagging and porpoising while towing. I found it easier to pull the rear wheels and work from the side than underneath the vehicle while installing.

The timbres bump stop is exactly the right height to meet the axel when the trailer is connected with all its weight onto the hitch. I have an Andersen weight distribution hitch and it levels out perfectly. The day picture is with the coach (Winn 2100bh) with factory equipment. The night picture is after the timbres are in place. Looks good.

It has been almost a year since I installed Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems (DVF350 and DVR350R) on the front and rear of my 2003 Dodge RAM Van 3500. These bumpers replaced the OEM bump stops that were on my van. I like the Timbren bumpers much better than the OEM bump stops because they provide a progressively cushioned response for suspension compression when traveling over significant humps like speed bumps in a parking lot, or curb ramps into driveways. I did not like the abrupt stop the OEM bump stops provided when traveling over the same objects. I installed the Timbren rear bumpers first, and after a few months of use, I decided to add them to the front. In both cases, the front and rear Timbren bumpers were easy to install once the OEM bump stops were removed. Installation required reuse of the factory hardware. On my van, the Timbren bumpers are not always engaged. Under normal load and travel conditions the bumpers are relaxed and about 1/2” away from the suspension landing points. However, their presence is much appreciated and very noticeable when the van is carrying heavy loads or handling significant humps.

Absolutely Pleased with the TIMBRENS. They were easy to install, and took less than an hour to install both. I noticed a slight stiffness in the ride as the rear bounced over a bad roadway. Towing is great, with a nice level and smooth ride. I am glad that I did not order the heavier duty Timbrens, than what was recomended for my truck. I believe the ride would have been too stiff. If you look at the photos showing the timbrens, the truck is still lifted in the rear, so what you see is a big gap between the rubber, and the steal plate. When the truck is lowered, there's 1" of space as it should be. BTW, I have been purchasing from etrailer for years now, and I have to say that I have never had any issues with any orders. They are my go to folks for all of my vehicle suppension stuff and trailer stuff. You can't go wrong with buying from them.

by:

Just got these on and haven’t been able to do a lot of testing yet, but it looks like they command their price. Huge difference in sag in the rear end of our Honda Pilot. As others have appeared to do in this review section before me, I started using a WDH with these and that looks to really be the winning combination with the Timbren SES. Our travel trailer is 3,500 lbs and it was squatting the pilot pretty well before. This timbren SES is a great addition. Can’t go wrong.

by:

My F53 was like driving a waterbed down the road. With the Timbrens, it’s a different vehicle. Should have installed them years ago. Etrailer is my go to for anything trailer. FAST shipping and prompt responses to questions or concerns.

by:

2022 F250 Super Duty. Super easy to install. I have about 3/4" gap between the spring and the plate. Time will tell how they impact the ride quality and how much sag they mitigate with my 5th wheel hooked up.

by:

Timbren Spring Helpers were exactly what I needed on my Tundra plus a spacer kit since I have a 3” TRD lift. They were packaged neatly, with proper hardware, and excellent instructions! They absolutely do exactly what they are supposed to do! Truck rides much better and helps level out the load!

by:

I'm suitably impressed with the difference i feel.
I have about 250 lbs. of static load with my topper and Decked cargo system. This put my install gap with no spacers just under the reccomended 1 inch minimum. Then add a couple hundred more pounds hauling music gear 100 shows a year, and the stop is resting on the axle.
I feel the absorption of the Timbren material is better than the flimsy stock bump stops. More cushion.
Where i really feel the difference is in the stabilty of excessive side sway when turning while loaded.
I have a gig coming up that will involve some unpaved mountain roads to get there so I think i will have a real goid idea of how these Timbren's will perform.
Instalation took me about an hour at 11 p.m.
The product it of the highest quality in design and build.
And Etrailer is a company that I would not hesitate to buy from in the future.
Thanks Dee Dee.
You rawk!!

We received this item in perfect time. We will be installing this soon. We have used these on other vehicles in our fleet and have been very happy with them. Thanks for a great product.

by:

Everything still works great. Install was pretty easy. Thanks again

by:

Happy with this purchase. Keeps the truck level and the ride smooth.

by:

It has been over a year since installing them and they have been doing great. Made a big difference in towing.

by:

....product was easy to install, all parts matched up perfectly. Good design, prevents shocks from bottoming out under extream loads. Very satisfied.

by:

Easy to understand instructions, easy to install.

by:

Very quick delivery, earlier than I expected. Easy to install. Just what was needed for rear weight support when pulling a trailer.

by:

Installed in an hour on saturday morning before breakfast. Loaded my Can-Am Outlander Max 800CC ATV in the back and truck stayed level. Handled so much better, I strongly recommend this product as an effective solution that is also inexpensive.

by:

still working grate towing trailer with less sway keeps truck level when towing

by:

Very impressed. Installation was a breeze. Prior to install, my Dakota sagged very noticeably from only a couple hundred pounds in the bed. Truck now sits perfectly level with several hundred in the bed and handles much better. They don't seem to affect the ride empty or with a light load, but with a big load bumps can be a bit harsh. I was planning to go with an air system before I found these. This was a great alternative.

by:

These are a great addition to my tow vehicle. Simple to install, just really pricey for what you’re actually getting. Seems worth it turning a comfy suv (2003 Durango) into a towing beast, usually towing a 2,000 pound car trailer with sometimes heavy vehicles. Still a comfortable ride after towing all day

I’ve towed dump trucks, box trucks, F250’s etc and these timbrens made it possible. I should really have a 34 or 1 ton truck for the towing i do but this setup just keeps making me money while comfortably riding especially unloaded

Product came as advertised, left side was labeled and they both fit perfectly on my 02 Dakota sport 2wd. No interference with brake lines and installed easily.

  • Will Timbre TDDR00 Fit a 2003 Dodge Dakota and Interfere with Brake Line
I spoke with my contact at Timbren and they said they have sold many of the Timbren Rear Suspension, part # TDDR00 for the 1997 to 2004 Dodge Dakota and have not had any issues with them hitting or interfering with factory brake lines. This will fit your 2003 model and will work well.

  • Do Timbren SES Replace Factory Shocks or Leaf Springs
The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TDDR00 are designed to work as an enhancement and not a replacement for factory suspensions, although they will mount in the spot that is currently occupied by your factory bump stops. I've linked a short review video that shows more information about the Timbren SES systems that I recommend having a look at.

  • Will a Timbren TDDR00 Benefit a 1998 Dodge Dakota When Towing
Suspension enhancement does have it's benefits for towing a trailer. It will level the suspension of the tow vehicle which is valuable. Where a weight distribution system is better is that not only does it level the suspension it also redistributes a portion of the tongue weight of the trailer up to the front axle of the tow vehicle. This helps greatly with braking and handling. The only other advantage is that suspension enhancement is generally easier to use than a WD system. The part...

  • Recommend Towing Components To Tow 4400 lb Travel Trailer With My 2003 R/T Durango
Weight distribution systems and vehicle enhancement options are not usually recommended to be used in conjunction since they can cancel each other out. I would recommend a weight distribution system to help reduce vehicle sag. For a weight distribution system, you want to select a weight distribution system that falls within the tongue weight of your trailer which is 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight when it is loaded and ready to be towed. You will want to make sure not...

  • 1999 Dodge Dakota Sport Sags at the Back When Towing a Trailer
Helper springs like Timbren # TDDR00 are designed to help keep the truck level when carrying heavy loads in the vehicle. When sag is caused by a trailer the best solution is weight distribution otherwise you are putting extra stress on the trailer. To choose a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded...

  • Comparing Load Sensing Shocks and Timbren Suspension Enhancement for a 2004 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab
I think something like load sensing shocks would be better in situations where you frequently tow or carry various size and types of loads. But if you primarily will be towing the boat and do not often carry varying sized loads in the bed, the Timbren system, # TDDR00, would be the better choice. The Timbren system is probably going to be the more cost effect choice and there is not a lot that can go wrong with the system since there are basically no moving parts, electronics, or pneumatic...

  • Suspension Enhancement For 1999 Dodge Durango 4x4
You would definitely feel the Timbren suspension system if installed when driving off road. When they are installed they reduce the space between the axle and the rubber stops. This would increase support deeper in the travel on your current suspension. If you need a suspension enhancement for your Dodge Durango, I would recommend the Air Lift Vehicle Suspension for the 1999 Dodge Durango, part # AL59529. With the rear axle of your vehicle sagging up to 3-1/2 inches and the front axle only raising 1 inch, you might be able to adjust your weight distribution system and you may not need to invest in a vehicle suspension enhancements system like air helper springs. When using a weight distribution system the measurements at the axles will vary but the weight should be distributed evenly across the two axles.
