Air Lift AirLift 1000 Rear Air Helper Springs Installation - 2015 Dodge Durango

Kevin: Today, on our 2015 Dodge Durango, we're gonna show you how to install the Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs. These are for the rear; designed to fit right into the coil springs. Part number is AL60824.Now the problem we hope to solve with the air bags is the vehicle squat that we get when we've got either a full load of people in the vehicle, the rear end kinda sags; maybe we're haulin' a trailer. You'll see as we bring the weight down on, the rear of the vehicle is gonna come down causing that squat. Now with about 200 pounds of tongue weight there on the back of the vehicle, we've actually had about an inch of squat here in the rear. So, this distance has been reduced quite a bit.

Dodge Durango Vehicle Suspension Questions and Answers

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for 2018 Dodge Durango RT Without Suspension Enhancement
  • There is not a rear leveling kit for a 2018 Dodge Durango RT from any of our manufacturers at this time. My recommendation is to use a weight distribution system as the aftermarket hitches like the Curt # C13182 and Draw-Tite # 75713 or # 76196 will handle much more tongue weight with a WD system. This will assist with mitigating the squat at the rear of your vehicle for a more level ride when you use the proper system for your trailer. When determining a weight distribution system,...

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2018 Dodge Durango
  • There is suspension enhancement that will work with your 2018 Dodge Durango, but the Coil SumoSprings # CSS-1145R is not a fit for your vehicle. I recommend checking out the Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL60824 which will fit your '18 Durango so long as you do NOT have an R/T trim. These air helper springs fit inside the coil springs on your Durango to ensure a better overall ride, from the steering to the braking. The springs have air pressure which can be adjusted from 5...

  • Will the Air Lift Kit AL60824 Fit a 2017 Dodge Durango Citadel Anodized Platinum AWD
  • The RT model of the 2017 Dodge Durango has an upgraded suspension which is why the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL60824 do not fit with that model. If your Citadel Anodized Platinum AWD has an open coil (nothing installed inside the coil) that has about a 4-1/2" inner diameter and has about 9" of space then this kit will fit. My contact at Air Lift said that the RT model is the only model that this won't fit but you can use the criteria mentioned above to confirm on your...

  • Recommendation on Helping Eliminate Rough and Uneasy Ride When Towing with a 2015 Dodge Durango
  • I think I have a solution to your ride issue on your 2015 Dodge Durango. Unfortunately, looking a the measurements of the pictures that you sent you will not have enough room to install a weight distribution system on the tongue of your trailer even if you try to use a pole tongue adapter. Since you've been worried about the excessive bounce you were experiencing when towing your trailer last year, installing a suspension enhancement system on your Durango will improve the ride and stability...

  • Does Air Lift Kit AL60824 Fit 2015 Dodge Durango RT Model
  • We know for sure that the RT models of the 2015 Dodge Durango are not compatible with the Air Lift kit part # AL60824. We had a customer come back with an RT model who said it did not fit due to the spring being shorter.

  • Comparison Between SuperSprings # CSS-1145 And # CSS-1145R
  • Part # CSS-1145 and part # CSS-1145R are identical helper springs. They are designed to fit the rear only for your 2013 Dodge Durango. Originally these were designed for both the front and back and the R indicated they were to be used on the rear only. These are inserted between the coils of each coil spring on your Durango and help to reduce body roll and help keep your Durango level. As more weight is added the stiffer they become.

  • Will the Air Helper Coil Springs Part # AL60824 Fit a 2012 Dodge Durango
  • The Heat is actually a sub-model of a Dodge Durango which is similar to the R/T. They are not very common which is probably why you have not heard of them. The Heat is actually the only Dodge Durango that comes from the factory with only two rows of seats. With that being said as long as you do not have the Heat or R/T sub-models then the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs part # AL60824 will work well for you. I have attached an install video of the airbags on...

  • Air Helper Springs Recommendation For a 2002 Dodge Durango
  • If you were interested in towing a trailer, and were planning on using the suspension system to overcome the sag that occurs when the trailer is hitched, I would recommend using a weight distribution system, like part # RP66074, that is properly sized for towing the trailer you will be towing with your Durango, as long as the hitch on you Durango is compatible with weight distribution systems. The reason I do not recommend going with an air bag or suspension helper like Timbren, is that...

  • Air Lift Air Helper Spring Recommendation for a 2000 Dodge Durango with a 2 inch Lift
  • Yes, the Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs # AL59529 that you referenced will work on your 2000 Dodge Durango, but since you have a 2 inch lift you will also need the Air Lift Lock-N-Lift Spacers # AL52130. The # AL52130 is basically a 2 inch spacer that allows the # AL59529 to work by taking up the additional space your lift kit created. I attached installation instructions for you to check out also.

  • Suspension Enhancement For 1999 Dodge Durango 4x4
  • You would definitely feel the Timbren suspension system if installed when driving off road. When they are installed they reduce the space between the axle and the rubber stops. This would increase support deeper in the travel on your current suspension. If you need a suspension enhancement for your Dodge Durango, I would recommend the Air Lift Vehicle Suspension for the 1999 Dodge Durango, part # AL59529. These would allow you to inflate them when you are driving under normal conditions....

  • Suspension Enhancement and Leveling of 1999 Dodge Durango using a Weight Distribution System
  • With the rear axle of your vehicle sagging up to 3-1/2 inches and the front axle only raising 1 inch, you might be able to adjust your weight distribution system and you may not need to invest in a vehicle suspension enhancements system like air helper springs. When using a weight distribution system the measurements at the axles will vary but the weight should be distributed evenly across the two axles. Depending on your weight distribution system there are several adjustments that...
