Will a Timbren TDDR00 Benefit a 1998 Dodge Dakota When Towing
Updated 03/09/2016 | Published 03/08/2016 >
Question:
I have seen that you recommend weight distribution verses the enhancement system when towing trailers but the enhancement seems much easier. Would this enhancement system not be beneficial at all for towing? I have a 6 by 14 trailer with gross weight of 5000 pounds. Also, what about air bag helper springs, would they be any better? Thanks

Suspension enhancement does have it's benefits for towing a trailer. It will level the suspension of the tow vehicle which is valuable. Where a weight distribution system is better is that not only does it level the suspension it also redistributes a portion of the tongue weight of the trailer up to the front axle of the tow vehicle. This helps greatly with braking and handling.
The only other advantage is that suspension enhancement is generally easier to use than a WD system.
The part # TDDR00 has been confirmed as a fit for your 1998 Dodge Dakota so it would work for just leveling the suspension.
