Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: 1,500-lb Rear Suspension Support

When weight in the back causes sag and throws off your steering, these helper springs keep things level and steady. The SumoSprings Solo add up to 1,500 lbs of support at 50-percent compression so your ride height stays even and your handling feels consistent. They help your factory suspension carry the load, absorb bumps and shocks, and keep braking and steering response where it should be even when you’re hauling something heavy.

Smooth Ride Whether Light or Loaded: Progressive Load Control

A light load shouldn’t make your ride stiff, and a heavy one shouldn’t make it sloppy. These microcellular urethane springs compress easily at first for a softer engagement, then firm up as weight increases to keep control tight. That progressive action means comfort when empty and solid support when fully loaded—no harsh jolts or bottoming out on rough roads.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When one side of your truck hits a bump or an uneven patch, each spring works on its own to keep things balanced. This independent movement helps level off-center loads, reduce body roll in corners, and minimize sway on the highway. The result is a more planted feel when you’re towing or carrying gear that’s not perfectly centered.

Built Tough for Real Conditions: Microcellular Urethane Construction

These helper springs are made from durable microcellular urethane that stands up to abrasion, oils, road salts, and UV rays. They perform through extreme temperatures from -25 F to 200 F and compress vertically instead of bulging sideways, so there’s less chance of damage in tight spots. With no air lines or pressure to monitor, they’re completely maintenance-free—just install them and go.

Simple Setup That Fits Right: No-Drill Installation

You don’t need special tools or major modifications to get this upgrade done. The custom-fit design bolts into place with a simple, no-drill installation so you can get back on the road faster with better support and handling. Two jounce-style springs are included along with a limited lifetime warranty and a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.

Very happy with this product. My 2018 F150 was sagging when towing my fifth wheel camper. These leveled it out. When you hit a bump UNLOADED, they do make contact with the axle and stiffen your ride a bit but other than that ride is normal on relatively smooth roads. But this is to be expected if you're going to make your truck capable of carrying heavier loads. During installation, on the driver's side, I did have to slightly bend one vehicle bracket out of the way so the spring wouldn't contact it during operation.
See photo, silver bracket near two zip ties which I added to further secure wiring harness to the bracket.
by:
That is awesome, just what I needed, maintenance free no worrying about adding air smooth ride when I tow my camper
by:
Installation of the Sumo spring kit was relativity simple. Jacked rear end up and removed tire and wheel. Removed factory joust. After studying spring and bracket got it mounted on the second try. I used the long bolt supplied with the bracket for the spring. Could not get it to go into the bracket with it mounted on the frame. Removed bracket and put long bolt in the bracket and reinstalled on frame. Bolted on spring. Installed other side with no problems. With travel trailer connected to truck my rear bumper is almost two inches higher. Truck sets level now. Haven't tried a road trip yet but one is planned soon. Will update when I get back.

Product works perfect, just like advertised, simple installation took 35 minutes both sides bolt in.
I tow a 24’ enclosed car trailer with a car & golf cart inside. Very little sag, beats the trouble of air shocks,
or installing air bags. All your products are very helpful
To the do it yourself mechanic. Thanks again for a great product. PS no one paid me to say this.

I have a Black Series HQ15 off grid off road camper caravan. The HQ15 weights 6000 lbs empty. I have a 2013 F-150 4x4 super cab 5.0 liter max tow package truck! After installing the Sumo Springs the sway and squat of the truck was improved tremendously!

Just installed a pair of rear Sumosprings on Mt '13 F150 2x.
Easy to install works great with my new 32' rv trailer. My next purchase is Sumosprings for the front. Got more control and hardly no sag is the rear. Yes great investment

I received my order today, exactly when they were supposed to show up. The contents are exactly as described and I can't wait to install them. According to my mechanic, these perform excellent under a heavy load.

They are working quite well. They engage a lot sooner than the factory stops. I noticed less sag in the rear when the load from my camper was applied. I often recommend them to people at campground when I see their trucks sagging. Great product.

by:
First off Montrell at etrailer was awesome to work with. I was experiencing trailer sag when pulling my camper and the SumoSprings sounded like a great solution. I was excited to receive my order a couple of days earlier then expected also. The installation was straight forward and took less than an hour. I used ratcheting wrench's which help tremendously. I like the fit the rides not bad. Looking forward to hitching up the camper.
by:
Received earlier that the estimate using the free shipping. SumoSpring helpers were well packaged with good instructions and even included Loctite for the bolts. I already installed the sumos and towed my boat. Greatly improved stability and reduced squat without ruining the ride, with or without the boat trailer. These people are real pros at what they do. Great job!
by:
Put them on my 2019 Ford Raptor to help with the trailer sway and to level off the truck pulling my 29’ enclosed Trailer. They were easy to install. About 30 minutes. Took them out when I got done using the trailer because I could feel every small bump when the truck wasn’t pulling the trailer. Again they worked good when the trailer was hooked up but you are going to give up ride quality.

This is my second set of sumo springs. It is a great help stabilizing our F-150 while we tow our half-ton towable fifth wheel. Well worth the money!

So far so good Easy install although brake lines on the drivers side had to be relocated a bit to prevent interference. The real test is when I pull my toy hauler in June.
by:
Easy to install but haven't put a load on them yet. Will load them up next week to see how well they work out. I have a lot of confidence in this item

2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
I put these on a 2013 Jeep JK (not lifted) that tows a 3000 lb trailer in rough terrain; Total game changer.

These replaced the anemic factory stops (which had completely disintegrated) and make it impossible to 'bottom out' on the dips and holes that use to beat up the suspension. I got nearly all of my vertical travel back and the vehicle now sits almost level under high tongue load.

They go on pretty easy. I suggest sliding in one side, and then using a wooden dowel and hammer to pop the other side in the stock receiver cup.

Highly recommended. These are a MUST if you are towing a trailer (with a medium sized SUV) of any significant weight or if you just want to be able to bounce hard without bottoming out your suspension. I am likely going to get the front suspension version now as well.
Wish I knew these existed sooner.

2025 Promaster 2500 159” wheelbase. Backed the van on couple 2” X 6 “ easier sliding under. Sprayed PB Blaster on top of bumper spring, using a 16” Channel Lock, easy off with the old. At that time I jacked the rear end to allow clearance. One side at a time. Took longer for set up then the job. I used the long bolt with two spacers. Have not drove yet, though looking for great results.

Glad to hear the install wasn't too bad, Michael! Definitely let us know how the ride is once you take it out for a drive! What are you using your Van for? The tires look pretty beefy.

This only pertains to the order, shipping speed, and install as I have not put a heavy load on these sumo Springs yet but I feel like that's a foregone conclusion based off the reviews already. The ordering process, the shipping, and the installation was unbelievably easy. I kept rereading the instructions thinking this can't be right because it was so simple. I looked at the YouTube video and realized it is that simple! So happy with the ordering process, the quality of the initial product I opened, and how simple it was to put on the jeep.

@ClaireH yes Ms Claire. I plan to put a truck camper on the Jeep (that weighs in the 500-1000 lbs range). My payload is 1700 lbs so I know a camper of the weight will be significant my truck. Already ordered a stiffer rear anti-sway bar as well.

@Justin That sounds like a good plan! These SumoSprings plus the sway bar should be more than enough to handle the weight of your truck bed camper.

For your 2013 Ford F-150, because you already have a weight distribution system, they next thing to do to reduce rear sag or squat is to add suspension enhancement. If you have 2WD I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-116-47. If you have 4WD I recommend # SSR-117-47. Yes, they will! The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs item # SSR-116-47 are compatible with the RAS system installed on your 2018 Ford F-150. Adding the helper springs will give you some additional support when it comes to sagging if you don't have your RAS system adjusted all the way. This will probably make for a smoother ride. These will definitely help with any bouncing you're experiencing.

The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-116-40 would also work for you but you will be near the capacity of 1,000 lbs with your 800 lb setup which is why I recommend the set rated for 1,500 lbs. This will ensure that the springs offer you with the correct amount of support and comfort. I have attached a review video for you as well.
