Question:
I was thinking more in the horse/torque area but the other suggestions are interesting as well. I was however surprised there was no mention of an air intake. I have heard from local guys in bar talk that those are some of the best "bang-for-your-buck" dollars you can spend to gain muscle. Is that true?

If you are looking for performance enhancements, I recommend using the Edge EvoHT2 Hand-Held Performance Tuner part # EP16040. This tuner can provide you with a boost in horsepower up to 24 HP and torque up to 24 TQ. The towing tune built into the device will adjust shift points for prolonged transmission life and maximize fuel pressure for increase fuel economy.
If you are looking for suspension enhancements, I recommend taking a look at the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-117-47 for 4x4 models or part # SSR-116-47 for 2x4 models. The SumoSprings will help to distribute weight across both axles, minimize sway/body roll, and help absorb bumps in the road.
If you are looking for cooling enhancements, I recommend adding an additional transmission cooler like the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13503 which will help to keep the transmission fluid temperature down in the vehicle. The reduced transmission fluid temperature will also help to increase the life and performance of your vehicle's transmission. In order to use this cooler you are going to need a vehicle specific adapter like part # D13025.
