Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: 3,000-lb Rear Suspension Support

When towing a trailer or hauling gear, rear-end sag can throw off steering and braking. The RoadActive Suspension custom leaf spring enhancement kit adds up to 3,000 lbs of load support by converting factory leaf springs into a mechanically active system. The variable-rated coil tension springs automatically adjust to the load, keeping the ride level and stable whether towing, hauling, or driving empty. With axle wrap, wheel hop, and bottoming out eliminated, your truck stays composed and predictable under pressure.

Smooth Ride Whether Loaded or Empty: Automatically Adjusting Coil Tension Springs

Most suspension helpers are either too soft or too stiff depending on the weight. This setup reacts instantly to the load—coils engage when weight is added and disengage when unloaded, so the ride stays smooth without extra stiffness. The variable-rate design boosts traction during acceleration and braking while keeping handling steady over rough roads. It’s a simple mechanical system with no air lines or maintenance needed once installed.

Reduce Sway and Body Roll: Stable Handling in Corners and Crosswinds

Heavy trailers or bed loads can cause sway and body roll that make driving stressful. This system strengthens the leaf springs to control side-to-side movement before it starts. The result is less sway on curves, better stability in wind, and fewer rocking motions when passing semis or navigating uneven terrain. The truck feels planted through every turn, even with a camper or heavy trailer behind you.

Built Tough for Long-Term Use: Epoxy E-Coated Steel Construction

Each unit is made from high-grade alloy steel with an epoxy e-coat for corrosion resistance. The end brackets have a salt spray rating of more than 800 hours to stand up to water and road grime. Once bolted in place under the leaf springs using existing U-bolts, no drilling or welding is required. It’s a durable, maintenance-free setup designed to handle years of real hauling without fussing with leaks or adjustments.

Fine-Tune for Your Load: Customizable Coil Tension Settings

During installation, the coil tension can be set between 25% and 40% using included spacers to match your hauling needs. Each side can also be adjusted independently to correct uneven loads like campers or toolboxes. This flexibility gives you a balanced stance and confident handling no matter how your cargo shifts or what you’re carrying.

Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this road active suspension custom leaf spring heavy duty enhancement kit. Now this kit is designed to fit your 2015 to 2018 Ford F150 two wheel drive and on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide. Just insert the year, make and model of your vehicle and our our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, as you probably know when towing or hauling a heavy load, you may encounter a number of problems that can make the driving experience difficult or even dangerous, such as sway, body roll, or bottoming out.

When your vehicle is weighted down, your factory leaf springs can't counteract these problems to the extent that they are supposed to. The weight will overpower those leaf springs and cause them to flatten out. When that happens, they're not gonna be able to support or stabilize your truck effectively. Additionally, because your factory leaf springs are passive, you won't, they won't begin to tackle problems such as sway until those problems have already started. Now this kit is going to convert your trucks factory leaf springs into a mechanically active suspension system.

It's going to actively suspension your leaf springs for improved ride quality with or without a load. And this all in one suspension system is going to improve stability, handling, and control. It's going to eliminate axle wrap, wheel hop, and bottoming out and it will reduce dangerous sway and body roll when you're cornering. It will even keep your ride level when you're towing or hauling a heavy load, improving your traction while braking and accelerating. It does use the variable rated coil tension springs, which will automatically adjust to your truck's load.

They activate immediately to support the extra weight and they will disengage when unloaded allowing your leaf springs to perform as they are intended to do. Now these can be adjusted during installation to accommodate your towing or hauling needs, and they are independently adjustable for side to side leveling of any off-center loads. These will extend the life of your factory leaf springs, your shock absorbers, shackles, and even your tires on your truck. These are made here in the USA and they are constructed of a durable epoxy, e-coated steel, and the corrosion resistant brackets and the ends of each unit have a salt spray rating of more than 800 hours. Now this is going to be a relatively easy bolt-on insulation, so that's what's nice about this system is there's no drilling, cutting, or welding required.

And as you see there on the photo that I put on your screen, the unit is the eye hook bracket will wrap around the top of the factory leaf spring eye and then the unit will secure under your leaf spring and around the factory U bolts. Now this is going to arrive just as you see it here on my table before me. They're going to arrive fully assembled. The hardware is included, instructions are included to guide you through that installation process. These are gonna be maintenance free and adjustments and monitoring aren't going to need be needed once they are installed. Now I think I failed to mention that the weight capacity is 3000 pounds. However, an important note to make is that these will not actually increase your truck's vehicle weight carrying capacity, so you wanna make sure that you don't exceed your manufacturer's recommended weight carrying capacity on your F-150. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Haven't trailered with these installed yet but they installed easy and gives a nice ride. Will update once we start trailering.

Admitedly, I haven't even rolled my '07 Silverado 2500HD classic out of the garage yet, but I'm already very pleased. I had to go to a neighbor for a 10mm hex key socket and was slowed down by my 7yo kid 'helping', but it was still only 90 minutes my jack stands were in use. Easiest thing to do!
My only small downsides so far:
* needed to find a 10mm hex key that I apparently don't own, not sure why they picked that fastener
* wish I put some loc-tite on; just to make me feel better
* distance to drop the axle so the suspension fully hangs was way further than I expected; barely had my jack stands tall enough to get the job done.

These aren't really bad on the product, just notes for future customers. We're towing the 5er about an hour an a half this coming week, hopefully it steadies up a lot!

2020 Tundra install that is supplementing a full Icon suspension including upgraded leaf springs. Easy installation process and completed by myself in a short afternoon. Definitely can tell a positive difference in handling even with no load. Pulling the trailer tomorrow to see the real benefits!

Worked well on leveling 1,000 lb tongue weight

I am a competitive shooter and take my camper to all my shoots. I have a cap on my truck and the decked drawer system. I also carry 400 lbs of ammo at any given time. When pulling my camper on the highway or over bumps and railroad tracks it was kinda scary. This system stopped the squat and removed the sag at acceleration. I installed sumo springs as well (without spacer) for added sway control when loaded down with trailer. The RAS was great right from the start. It reminded me of the 80’s then we would put traction bars on old hot rods to stop rear squat on acceleration. Same kind of feel with my truck. Some much nicer. With the trailer it removed 1.5 inches of squat on the rear and got my front and back within 1” of variance and before install it was around 2.5 to 3. Took only fifteen minutes per side to install once the tires were off. Great product….

by:

Total transformation! I never knew how bad my ride was until I installed these RoadMaster 3611-HD active suspension. It took longer to safely jack my truck up and remove tires than it was to install them! Absolutely a game changer. I carry about 1000 lbs of tools and supplies daily and like riding a Rollercoaster when hitting bumps. Now, i hit bumps on purpose just to feel these RoadMasters work their magic! Love them!

by:

Installed on my 2016 F-150 XLT. Truck Only Report: I'm very pleased with my unloaded truck ride. My truck now takes bumps much better and feels like it hugs the road better. On my wife's first ride, she said, "It feels like it rides smoother." I agree.

Although I have not towed my travel trailer yet, we will next week, when I hooked it up to my truck, all of my measurements are much better. With my WD hitch connected, all of my truck measurements are very close to equal to the unloaded, pre-RAS, measurements. In other words, with the trailer attached, much truck sits almost exactly at factory unloaded level. I'm really looking forward to giving a good run next week.

The Road Active Suspension is The solution .
2015 F150 EB Max Tow pulling a Lance 1685..
Truck pulls TT with no effort..but was looking for better handling options.
Have many miles without RAS vs Quite a few now with RAS.
The driving and handling is a very welcome improvement… from high mountain passes and roadways to Interstates.. wind… rain … etc
Was contemplating a 3/4 ton… not now.
Easy install.. you won’t be disappointed

by:

Easy Install and everything was in the box. These raised the rear of my truck 1 1/4” and give a stable ride.

by:

Very easy to install and made a big difference. I have 300lbs in the back a d it made it sag. With this on, look like stock height.

by:

Working with etrailer was superb! The RAS system is exactly what my rig needed, it reduced sag and gave me more control when driving with my 2020 F150 4wd crew and 28’ Jayco 7500 # travel trailer! I would highly recommend the RAS system. Easy to install, love it!

by:

Received this yesterday and the directions are very vague for my Dodge pick up, but upon looking at things, it does not work for my truck because it has overload springs. I think all.2001 2500 Rams have the overload springs?
That was never mentioned in the guaranteed to fit my truck, but, This kit cannot be installed if your truck has factory overload springs sitting on top of the main leaf spring pack.
So I guess I will never know how good they actually work.

by:

My husband had some trouble woth the first one with the spring but they are amazing truck didnt move an inch when we put our 5th wheel on it amazing.

by:

Install went smooth, did this myself. Gave my F150 the extra support to be able to tow my half ton rated fifth wheel with the truck sitting level. The unloaded ride is still just like it was prior to install. I used the thin white spacer to set the spring tension.

by:

Works great at leveling my truck with my travel trailer.

by:

I have heard nothing but good things about these enhancement springs so I bought a set. Very easy to install if you have any mechanical ability at all. Haven't used my truck to pull out 5th wheel RV yet but I will in a couple of days. I have a 2500HD it seems to have soften the ride a little. It doesn't make sense but prior to instillation it rode rough like it should, but the springs seem to help. IDK

Finally decided to try the RAS system for the truck since I bought a bigger camper. Ordered it hoping it would get here in time for an install before our new camping trip. Arrived in plenty of time! Opened it up and went through the instructions and got to the install. So, advice…read instructions from start to finish before starting! LOL. I thought they sent the wrong parts and then I read the instructions completely and then said, oh yea, forgot that part. Ha ha. Anyway, there's always a better way to do things based on your situation and vehicle. So after a few different attempts, finally got my groove and install went just fine. As always…take your time, double check everything before tightening down! Anyway, completed the install and then took it for a quick drive. Real happy with it! Felt substantially like it can handle more weight. Will be trying it with the camper next week. Again, thanks to the etrailer peeps for getting it to me on time. Since Murphy's Law resides in my garage, I wanted plenty of time to do the install right…and they delivered! Literally. Thanks again and will look forward to the next order.

Installed this today on my 2023 Ford F150 Lariat 4x4 with the tow package. The kit arrived within 2 days of ordering. The box was slightly open but the springs appeared undamaged. I elected to do the install myself and opted to get a 4 ton floor jack to replace my very old 3 ton. I’m very glad I did. After blocking the front tires and setting the parking brake, I loosened the wheels and raised the rear at the differential using a small 2x4 block to span the contact points. I took the wheels off and originally set my jack stands in front of the leaf spring on the frame. Lowering the truck onto the stands was not effective. There wasn’t enough travel to provide relief to the springs. I ended up setting my jack stands on some 1x16 scrap pieces and put them under the spring attachment point. This gave me just enough room on my floor jack to unburden the springs. Once I got over this small hurdle the install went smoothly. This took about an hour to very carefully construct as I didn’t want to drop my brand new truck on the ground. Brand new 5 ton jack stands would have eased my mind considerably. My install includes a spacer for the bump stop to offset it towards the centerline of the vehicle. The instructions weren’t intuitive and it took a few minutes to figure out the bolts. You need to insert the provided bolt into the spacer and attach the spacer to the frame with the original bump stop bolt. It’s the only one you can get a socket on in the depression. The bump stop then attaches to the provided bolt you inserted into the spacer using the provided nut. You will need a deep well 15mm socket for this attachment. Fortunately I had one. I set the spring using the 25% white spacer, reinstalled the wheels and set the truck back on the deck. The truck now sits 3/4” higher in the rear. I drove around and noticed that I was sitting a little higher as the site picture changed a bit. The truck didn’t seem to ride differently empty. If anything it seemed a little more cushioned though no less responsive. I towed my 9000lb travel trailer previously with a Ram 2500 6.7l diesel that had Sumo springs and a WD hitch. I got tired of the cost and maintenance and selected this Ford because it could haul the trailer. I chose the RAS over the Sumo springs because of how much squat I observed when I hooked up the trailer initially. I will update after I tow the trailer. My only concern at the moment is that the bump stop spacer isn’t going to provide enough clearance from the bracket.

by:

Installation was pretty easy. I am not a mechanic and it was straight forward. I would say that the pictures included in the installation instructions are not detailed and don't show a good close up. Including a video QR code would be way better.
Otherwise, the vehicle sits a bit higher and the back end seems more solid.

by:

I was a little concerned when they arrived as there was no instillation directions in the supplied literature. There was Ford, Dodge etc but nothing related to a 2023 Silverado 1500. I forged ahead using the universal instructions that were supplied. All turned out well. The instillation went much easier that expected. This is the second time in a month that I have ordered from etrailer.com. EXCELLENT fast service with lots of follow up on tracking etc. THAKS to all etrailer employees.

by:

This is my second F150 with an RAS installed. With RAS, my 2023 F150 2.7 Supercrew (with HD payload package, rated to tow 10,100#) tows my 6000# Airstream completely level with no squat and no issue when paired with a WD hitch. And yes, I've done the same tow without RAS and would prefer not to do it again. Absolutely an improvement over stock with minimal impact to daily driving. It does raise the rear about 1-2" but nothing the average person notices and I forget about it all the time. I'd like a leveling kit to help raise the front/reduce the rake a bit but then it wouldn't tow level anymore so that's the compromise. The RAS does exactly what it claims to do, at a fair price, and maintenance free (no airing up or down etc.) The only improvement that would be better would be trading up to a 2500 or 3500 but that's not the daily driver experience I want for the 80% of the time I'm not towing. I did buy again when I traded in my 2017 and would buy yet again if I got another half-ton.

by:

Received the package very quickly.
Installation
is easy for the DIYer.
Have already used the Road Active Suspension on my F150. Stabilized the body roll of the truck while towing My travel trailer. Coupled with weight distribution and sway control system the conventional tow travel trailer was as stable as a 5th wheel tow. Haven’t had a chance to tow yet with my F250 but expect the same results. Like others have said it does not change the ride of the empty F250.

by:

Product performs as it claimed. These are an excellent product.

by:

Purchased for a 2018 F150 to assist with towing a 6000lb RV travel trailer. The heavy duty model is too heavy duty. With the pre-loading as light as possible, the unloaded ride is stiff. Would recommend the standard model. With the travel trailer (using an Equalizer brand weight distribution hitch), the ride and stability was much improved over just the factory leaf springs. The rear of the truck was raised over an inch. Installation was straight forward. A little bit of guessing as to the pre-tensioning and if they are matched left and right. Would love it if the design could be changed such that it was easy to "snap on" when needed and "snap off" when unloaded. Maybe some sort of lever system would make this possible. Overall, they did what they are designed to do - assist the truck in being more stable when under load and less squat. I ended up trading the Ford for a Toyota which has coil springs so I passed on the RAS to the new owner of the Ford.

by:

I bought these after a 1000+ mile trip towing my trailer (~8000# loaded) with my 2013 F-150 (HD Payload & Max Towing Package). Installation was super easy. I did not need to take the tires off. There was plenty of room to get behind the tires and place and adjust the springs. Once installed they definitely give the truck a rake. I didn't measure pre-installation because I didn't expect the lift to be so great. I used the black disc to adjust the springs.
It's not too extreme but you can definitely see a difference compared to stock.
As you can see in the pictures, with the springs the drop with a trailer attached is greatly reduced and the truck sits level. Towing was great. I used a WDH before and being able to with springs only and a sway bar is pretty nice. Drop with trailer attached is only about 2.5 inches (see pics)
