Today we're going to be taking a look at the Road Master easy hook safety cables. These safety cables are faster to connect than other cables. They're going to include the features of standard cables with the addition of a unique attachment system. Located on one end of the cable we're going to have a stainless steel ball. This is going to lash into a slotted anchor plate. Now slotted anchor plates are sold separately.
You can find them here at etrailer.com. These cables are going to measure 68 inches long and they're going to have the capacity of 8,000 pounds per pair. They're made right here in the USA and designed to work with all Road Master mounting brackets with quick disconnects. The safety cables are going to be air craft tight galvanized steel. Then on this end, they're going to have the drop forged steel hooks with the spring loaded safety latch to prevent accidental disconnecting. It's a really nice strong durable design.
The cables are also a vinyl coated to prevent scratching and chipping of the tow bars. They're going to easily connect to the anchor brackets by inserting the ball end through the diagonal slots and then pulling down and to the side. Now your anchor brackets are going to be the brackets that connect to the quick disconnects and those brackets are sold separately. Again, you can find them here at etrailer.com if you're in need of some. When connecting your cables to your tow vehicle, we do recommend that you cross your cables below the hitch. That's going to create a cradle so in the event of a separation this will help in preventing the tow bar from striking the ground.
