Swagman Around the Spare Deluxe

This convenient rack carries 2 bikes on your RV and provides clearance for a spare tire. Its sturdy steel construction has a black powder coat for corrosion resistance.

Anti-Sway Cradles

Swagman Around the Spare Deluxe Anti Sway Cradles

The anti-sway cradles rotate and slide along the dual arms to perfectly position your bicycles, reducing the need for a bike adapter bar. The cradles include durable rubber straps to hold your bikes firmly in place on the rack. Because the cradles secure each bike at three places (twice along the top tube and once along the seat post or down tube), rocking back and forth is virtually eliminated, preventing bike-to-bike contact.

Removable Pins

Swagman Around the Spare Deluxe Removable Pins

Removing one pin on each side of the rack allows easy access to the spare tire by removing the upright bars from the base of the rack.

U-Bolts

Swagman Around the Spare Deluxe U-bars

The rack installs on your RV with U-bolts that are designed to clamp around a 4" to 4-1/2" continuous welded square bumper.

Terrible product as it sits too low on the bumper. I mangled a bike wheel backing up to a slight swale. The bike wheel was only six inches off the ground, the swale was seven. My bad for backing up without a spotter but the bike rack is not adjustable & therefore worthless to me.

Not the wheel, ugh! Yeah, if it was taller, it definitely would have helped. You know, part # LA-102 is a ladder mounted bike rack that is adjustable for height. I bet if you used this, you wouldn't have that problem again.

by:

I am very satisfied with the bike rack. Instillation was simple. The package had been previously opened and was missing 2 nuts but I had them in the garage. The product stated it would not fit on a bike with less than 18” between the seat and handle bar post but I drilled 2 holes in the top cross bar and set them on an angle as allowed in the instructions and they fit my mountain bikes with a cradle of 14”. I added a web strap from the tire support post, over the tire and around the bike cross bars to eliminate any swaying which did not appear to be a problem even before the strap. My 2 mountain bikes weigh 35.5lbs each and appeared very secure for a 700 mile trip.

by:

Very well made easy to install. And works great for our 2 bikes. Very secure using straps provided with a couple additional small ratchet straps sold separately.

I dont use it a lot but have used it a few times putting 2 bicycles on it. And it held up great on the back of my pop up camper.

by:

So far - first trip out - we love it. Or bikes are a little different in design so it took some creativity to get them positioned on the carrier. The shape of the frame rests on the bike rack made this pretty easy, though. Definitely a plus.

Bike on!

by:

Good product, well made. Took me less than an hour to install. Have a small travel trailer, just me and my wife. We are both retired. Wanted to take bikes with us when we travel.Don't have a lot of room on the rear bumper so this was the best product for my needs. Pictures of the finished job included.

by:

Great price for a very good product.

by:

This bike rack was a perfect fit on the bumper of our RV! It sits just outside our spare tire and is very sturdy and solid. Can’t wait to take our bikes on our next trip!

by:

I just have one bike to carry on the back of my trailer and this works great for that. Fits nicely around the spare tire. I leave the bottom brackets on and when I need it, I put in the top vertical bars. My only issue is the vertical bars do not slip in very nicely (very tight fit), so I have to pound them down. Hasn't been an issue, but is a pain. It also seems to be holding up to the weather OK and only minor rust so far.

by:

This bike rack exceeded our expectations. Easy to install and our bikes are secure. Last trip was from our home in Riverside county up to a campground in Pollock Pines. Not one issue.

by:

We have a 2019 Imagine camper with a spare tire on the back bumper. The description of this product said it would fit on our bumper with the spare tire. We tried every way we could and the woman's bike would not fit on there even with a frame adaptor bar attached to the bike. And with two bikes on the carrier, it was pushed up against the spare tire. The product is well made and I am sorry it would not fit our need.

I am sorry that the bike rack did not meet your needs. The maximum diameter of the bike frame can be no more than one and a half inches. Customer service will be in touch.

by:

The product is exactly as advertised.

by:

I was a bit disappointed in this product. I was hoping to use it to tote our bicycles south for the winter. Unfortunately the design of our bikes, both Giant brands, do not work on the rack because of the way the cross bars are configured. They do not sit well on the rack. I'm guessing you have to have bikes with a single straight bar between the seat and the handlebar post. Ours do not, especially my wife's bike.

Yes this bike rack does require the bike to have a level horizontal bar to hang from. The good news is there are bike frame adapters that will give you a level hanging surface such as part # Y02531. This yakima bike adapter bar fits most bike frames because it extends from 14 1/2 to 31 1/2 inches.

by:

Viewing the installation video before installing made the installation quick and easy.
The product is well constructed.
Packaging of the product is first class.
I will order all my travel trailer accessories from ETrailer.

fixed the tight threads on the hold downs, and it works great,i still would buy it again.very nicely made.

by:

Easy to put together. Easy to load he bikes. Product was perfect for our need.-

by:

I like the basic design, but I really dislike the J hooks at the top. When you have a bike or two, hanging across the top, it is very inconvenient and time consuming to screw the bottom brace onto the metal rod of the J hook extending down.... all the way till the bike is tight. I went to a hardware store and bought 4 1 1/2 inch spacers and inserted them over the screw rod and that made it much better. It will still take 10 minutes to get the bikes off - but it's better than it was. I wouldn't mind paying more for an easier to use product.

Don-s

4/21/2015

its still the same. I still use them and do recommend them.

by:

As of right now the install was very easy to do by myself. I was very pleased with how everything fit correctly too. Looking forward to putting our bikes on it next time we go out to our campsite.

by:

eTrailer continues to be my 1st thought for RV needs. Selection, price, and customer service. I had selected a different rack, partially installed it, and found that it wouldn't work for my needs. eTrailer cheerfully accepted it back and exchanged it for this rack. This one has held up very well for nearly a year now and a 2000 mile road trip carrying two adult bikes. I did add a ratcheting strap from the upper part of the rack, around the spare tire, and to the bumper to minimize bouncing.

by:

Unfortunately, I was not able to use the product. When attempting to move the spare tire to the center of the bumper so I could use the rack, the tire slipped out of my hand and snapped off the whole bottom of the tire carrier.

However, I just want to express how easy they made it to return the item. I live in my travel trailer full-time and have not yet been able to set up Wi-Fi, so I have not been able to use my printer. Ashley E. worked with me until I finally got the UPS label printed and successfully returned the bike rack. Ashley E. was very helpful and considerate while I was having my ‘issues’.

Will definitely do business with etrailer again.

by:

This product was delivered on time as promised and was exactly as described, with very good videos and PDF File Instructions at the etrailer website. What more could anyone ask for ???!!!

Didnt work really well for us. Not very heavy duty and tendency to get lightly warped. For light use, it probably works ok.

by:

This bike rack works great on our fifth wheel. It was very easy to install and is not a real heavy product. We are limited to 135 lbs. on our rear bumper. This rack is just under 25 lbs. so we were able to mount 2 bikes on it and still be under our limits.

As always, etrailer delivery is fast. We love the videos they post of their products that we can review before we buy.

by:

just put it on the camper today 5-26-20,seems like a well built product. Fits two bikes nicely and well padded. will be going over the road for a couple of weeks and I think the rack will do fine holding bikes.Product is just what I wanted not too big and not too small and built well.Would recommend purchase good price and great seller fast shipping.

by:

Frame hardware mounted easily. Configuration is what I needed. However, means to hold bikes to rack is intolerable. What is used is lock nuts encased in a knob. Understand the reasoning, but the threads are over 2 inches long. It takes forever to lock on a bike. Also, one knob broke off on first use. Bike attachment method needs re-work.

by:

Ordering equipment sight unseen is a bit risky, but it's always a pleasure when the goods arrive as promised and the quality turns out to be better than expected. The around-the-spare-tire bike rack is a simple design and installation is a breeze. It seems sturdy enough, but we'll have to wait for some better weather to give it the first road test. All-in-all I'm very pleased with purchase, and the customer service provided by the folks at etrailer.com was excellent as usual.

by:

I like the over the rear tire mounting capability for my RV and the fact that it can be easily removed by pulling the two quick pins on the bottom. This allows me to fold down the hinged spare so I can access the rear storage compartment. I also like the ease of loading and securing the bikes on the rack mounting arms.
