A water pump is needed to get the water from your RV or boat's fresh water holding tank up to your faucets. This automatic pump from Seaflo not only performs this task, but it also ensures a consistent flow and high-volume output for up to 4 fixtures. This means you can run your shower and your kitchen faucet at the same time without losing pressure. It's also energy efficient and runs quietly.

Seaflo pumps for RV fixtures

No-Mess Self-Priming

There are 2 types of pumps you can get for your RV: one that requires manually priming every time you run your fresh water tank dry, and one that primes automatically. Manual priming requires that you pour water into the pump, which can be inconvenient and messy. This pump primes itself, keeping you and your RV clean and dry.

Worry-Free Operation

Seaflo uses an automatic start-and-stop pressure switch that lets the pump run dry long enough to self-prime. If you turn your water on and realize you've unknowingly run your fresh water tank dry, the pump can run dry without damage while you shut the faucet and the pump off. The pressure switch also protects the pump motor from overheating when the water has been on for a while. So, if one of your kids leaves the faucet on, you're going to town with the washdown hose, or your teen takes a long shower (despite your asking them to conserve water), the pump will kick off when it starts to get hot. Once the motor has cooled, it will automatically come back on if the faucet or shower is still turned on.

To use this pump once it's installed, you only have to turn the water on!

Quick Tips: Some of our neighbors suggest unplugging this pump when you're traveling to prevent it from turning on accidentally if your faucets shake. And some of our feline-loving friends also recommend unplugging the unit any time you leave your cats unsupervised.

Installation

This pump can be installed on the floor, under a cabinet, or on the wall. Because this pump has a vertical, priming lift, you can install it up to 6' above your fresh water tank. Just make sure to measure 6' from the bottom of your holding tank. This is where the intake fitting will sit.

Pump feet and mounting pattern

Once you've determined the pump's location, it can be secured to its new home with 4 screws (not included).

Filter

A filter is included to prevent debris from entering the pump. To install this, just screw it inline with the inlet port.

The fittings on this pump are male NPT ports. Screw the 1/2"-14 NPT hose barbs onto the pump fittings. The hose barb fittings have wingnuts to make it easy to turn the fittings by hand. Once you have the tubing (sold separately) in place on the hose barbs, add hose clamps (sold separately) for extra security.

Fill your fresh water tank and turn your water faucet on to clear the lines of air. The pump should kick on immediately, but because self-priming can take up to a minute to complete, give it a little time to start producing water at the faucet.

Anchored it to vibration pads. Still sounds like a freight train when it runs. Tried to return it - No luck.

by:

Very pleased at 1 year. This is the first pump I have had with the bypass function. It helps by lessening the pump cycling with low water flow at the faucet. This pump is also somewhat less noisy than our first and third pumps. Yes, we are on our 4th pump since new in 2014!. I have a really good feeling about this one now after 1 year and no glitches and still sounds the same as when I first installed it. Also it was an easy install since fittings matched the old ones.

We live full-time in our motorhome. Perhaps that is why we wore out 3 demand water pumps in the first 7 years. Now at the 2 year point with this pump and absolutely no problems to date. Very happy with this pumps functioning. I think SeaFlo got it right with this one.

Purchased for a mountain property. Works great with the high flow rate. Along with great support from etrailer!

This is an upgrade to our working pump - The new pump provides noticeably improved water pressure and the install was well done!

So far so good. Added pressure and volume to our RV shower. Easy installation. Service from Etrailer is always great.

The pump works as advertised, good flow for the shower. I like the variable flow feature and as always etrailer did their usual good job.

This pump has worked great all year,

by:

The pump is wonderful. The only problem is that Etrailers video tells you it will work on a 17 amp circuit. The instructions from seaflo says pump should be wired on its own dedicated circuit to the battery. The electrical circuit for this pump requires a 25 amp fuse. I installed a continuous duty solenoid that supplies power to the pump when I turn the existing pump switch on that was it my 5th wheel rv.

by:

Doesn't work correctly, internal check valve not working as water comes back through pump when city water on.

Katrina B. profile picture

Katrina B.

10/28/2022

That is a very common problem. The incoming city water pressure is too high. Incoming suction side pressure ideally should be 0 but no higher than 30 psi. There needs to be a regulator on the city water feed.

Thank you so much for the reply, I have put a regulator on hose and the new warranted pump works now!

by:

The pump arrived on time and works well. I replaced the original pump in my Monaco motorhome and it is quieter than the one I replaced. The only problem I had was the box was open when it was delivered and I had to go buy o-rings for the fittings so they would seal. I would definately recommend this pump and etrailer.

by:

I have water pressure!!! I couldn't believe how "weak" the old (original) pump was in this motorhome. It took some pipe modification to get it to fit, but I am glad I went with the most powerful unit I could buy. eTrailer was it's usual "efficient self", ordering was seamless and delivery was timely and efficient.

by:

I received my product this morning as promised. Very good looking, well made pump. I have bought multiple items from etrailer, and have been very pleased each time with the products and service. I very much appreciate them following up as they do to see if I am pleased. I always search etrailer first for my needs. I highly recommend etrailer.

by:

So far it’s been a great pump

by:

This is a direct replacement for the existing pump in our RV which made instillation a breeze. My only complaint is that it is incredibly noisy compared to the Shurflo pump it replaced..

by:

I love Etrailer! They work with you and are very helpful when you order parts. Great prices also!

by:

Good service will buy again thanks

by:

Great, pump doesn’t constantly recycle

by:

Best pump out there. I've had a few and this one is quieter and plenty strong enough

by:

Was not an on demand kept blowing fuses gave up on it. I will look elsewhere. For the proper pump.

  • Can the psi be of the Seaflo 60 psi Diaphragm Pump Be Adjusted
No, the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump, # SE24FR is a 12 VDC pump that flows up to 5.5 gallons per minute and pressure setting at 60 psi. This is a variable flow based on demand, there is not an adjustable setting on the unit itself to make changes. If you are needing your pump to be within the 45-55 psi range you would want to go with one of the below pumps: - Seaflo Diaphragm Pump for Boats and RVs # SE58FR (45 psi) - Flow Max RV Fresh Water Pump # LC689052 (50 psi) - Seaflo Diaphragm Pump...

  • Best Water Pump for 2020 Cougar 30LRS
RV water pumps are all universal in what they can replace so what I would recommend as the best option for your 2020 Cougar is the Seaflo part # SE24FR as it has the highest gallons per minute flow rate of 5 GPM and has the highest water pressure rating of 60 psi.

  • Replacement Water Pump Recommendation for a 2001 Fleetwood Camper
I recommend replacing your water pump with something that has a similar flow rate so you aren't downgrading from your current unit. For something slower I recommend the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump # SE57FR rated for 3 GPM (Gallons per minute) or for something a little faster we have the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump # SE24FR rated at 5 GPM. I'm linking review videos as well as our selection of replacement water pumps for your reference.

  • What Causes RV Water Tank to Overfill When Connected to City Water
The problem you are having is the check valve of your water pump leaking water and filling your tanks to the point of overfilling them. We actually don't carry the Shurflo brand so we aren't much help picking between the two models you have listed. Our most popular option is the Seaflo part # SE24FR which is rated for 60 psi and 5 gallons per minute. This will be a nice bump in water pressure above what you have now. This has a really solid check valve as well which will prevent the problem...

  • Can a Seaflow 12 Volt Water Pump Be Adapted To Run Off 110 Volt Power?
If you would like to adapt the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump # SE24FR to run on 110 volt power you will need to find a power converter that is capable of putting out at least 15amps of 12 volt power. We have larger units like the Progressive Dynamics RV Converter # PD49RR that puts out 30amps of 12 volt power. You can also select the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump # SE96FR that has the same connectors as the other pump but is wired for 110 volt power.

In regards to replacing the water pump in a trailer, we simply recommend replacing this with a unit that carries similar specs to the existing as that is what was chosen by the manufacturer based on the several factors such as line length, line size, consumption etc. I wouldn't be able to inform of the maximum size pump you can use but so long as they are the same or just slightly higher than the existing pump there should be no issues. • Recommended Water Pump for An RV Using A Lot of Water
I recommend going with the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump for Boats and RVs - Variable Flow # SE24FR you were looking at. It sounds like you got a lot going on and are going to need a pump to keep up with those demands. The 5 GPM (gallons per minute) pump # SE24FR is going to be plenty. Most trailers and campers will use pumps that have a 3-3.5 GPM pump, but for larger motohromes that use more water you'd want to go with something in the neighborhood of 5 GPM or higher.

I recommend the HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump - 12 Volt - 3 Gallons Per Minute - 55 psi # P25201. This water pump has a 55 psi rating with a 3.0 GPM rating. It has rubber feet to minimize the noise and vibration that you would feel with the other pumps we currently have available, especially the higher PSI rated Seaflow Pump # SE24FR. If it is wired for a DC connection then you would have to rewire your set-up or go with a DC option like the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump # SE24FR. The more common set-up is DC.
