Video Transcript for Review of Seaflo RV Fresh Water - 6 Fixture Diaphragm Water Pump - SE24FR

Micheal: Hi, there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the SEAFLO diaphragm pump. This is going to provide consistent high volume flow of fresh water to up to six fixtures in either your RV, or your boat. It does have the variable flow technology that allows it to provide the amount of water that you're going to need without having to cycle. So, basically, when your faucet is turned open, the built-in pressure switch is going to start the pump up.

And when you close your faucet again, it's going to stop the pump. This does have five . Has a five chamber diaphragm that's going to provide 5.5 gallons per minute of flow at 48 pounds per square inch of pressure. So, it's going to be pretty close to what you're used to at home. It might even be a little bit higher, but should feel very normal to you.

It won't feel like it's just trickling out. It should give you a nice amount of pressure. This does have a self-priming design that removes any air from the airlines, to help eliminate air binding, that kind of spluttering that you get when you have air in the lines. So, that will be nice for you. This unit is capable of up to 86 foot lift. So, if you have this mounted under your sink, and you're wanting to make sure that you have enough pressure to put water through your shower head, you want to make sure that, that gap between the pump and your shower head is no more than six feet, which most of them are shorter than that, so you should be fine.

And just be cautious or mindful of where you're mounting this in place. As far as getting it mounted, it is going to be pretty simple. It is a bolt-on installation. So, we're going to put bolts through the feet here to get it put in place. Hardware is not included in this, but when you're deciding where to mount this, you'll probably want to make sure that your space is going to be big enough.

So, I'll give you a few measurements here. Our overall length is right at nine inches. Our width, when we have all these fittings on here . I'm going to call it right about 11 inches. It's my measurement. Now, keep in mind, if you are going to have to angle your hose, you will want to make sure that you have enough room to have a nice, smooth angle, and not going to have a sharp angle, which could crimp your hose. These fittings here will accept half inch, inner diameter tubing. So, you do want to make sure that, that will fit correctly, and that you have enough room. So, this is about 11 inches, but you'll probably want an extra couple inches on either side, depending on how you mount this, to make sure that your tubing can flow correctly. As far as our height here, we're at right about four and three quarters of an inch tall. Our feets, they are going to be a semi-rigid rubber, to help to reduce the excessive vibration that the motor can put off, so that these will help to dampen that, so you don't hear it. You won't feel it.These are separated center on center, right about three and a quarter inch, and . Going call it two and a quarter inch. So, something to keep in mind there, when you're installing these . This does have a heavy duty corrosion resistant motor that's going to run dry without causing damage, and an enclosed housing with sealed switches to block any moisture from getting in. You can mount this in any or orientation that you want, but it is recommended, if you are going to have it in a vertical orientation like this, that you actually have the motor assembly on top, just in case there we're ever a failure. You don't want that water to drip into your electric components. Obviously, water and electric don't mix very well. This does work on 12 volts of DC current. It's only going to draw about 17 amps, so shouldn't put too big a strain on your system. This is going to have a maximum water temperature of 140 degrees Fahrenheit, which is actually about 20 degrees warmer than the consumer product safety commission recommend setting your water heater. So, it should be able to handle about as much as you can handle. So, you're going to have nice warm showers, nice hot water to wash your hands, and constant pressure when you need it. So, if you are needing a diaphragm pump for your RV, or boat, I'd say, this is going to be a great option for you. Having the six faucets, or openings, fixtures, it's going to give you a lot of options. So, kitchen, bathroom, different places that those really add up quickly. So, this is going to be a nice, robust model for you in either that boat or RV. So, that's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.

This pump is working fine, a replacement for one that was damaged by freezing not winterized correctly.

I have water pressure!!! I couldn't believe how "weak" the old (original) pump was in this motorhome. It took some pipe modification to get it to fit, but I am glad I went with the most powerful unit I could buy. eTrailer was it's usual "efficient self", ordering was seamless and delivery was timely and efficient.

The pump is wonderful. The only problem is that Etrailers video tells you it will work on a 17 amp circuit. The instructions from seaflo says pump should be wired on its own dedicated circuit to the battery. The electrical circuit for this pump requires a 25 amp fuse. I installed a continuous duty solenoid that supplies power to the pump when I turn the existing pump switch on that was it my 5th wheel rv.
