What is the difference between the black top vent and the side aluminum vent? I would like the aluminum for a top ventis there a reason why I cannot use the aluminum as a top vent?

For all intents and purposes there really is no functional difference between the Replacement Exterior Pop-Up Roof Vent # 9106 and the Ventilator, Pop Up 2-Way Aluminum with Screen # RV-626-062. Either would work just as well as the other with the only real difference being that one is painted black and the other is aluminum.
Both could be used as a top vent.
