Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com And we're taking a quick look at the bolt on coupler for your 2 5/16-inch ball. Now this is adjustable, as long as you have a channel-mount bracket. That's how it's going to attach to your trailer. So it's gonna allow you to make sure that everything is nice and level between your trailer and your towing vehicle. Helps you relieve any kind of undue stress on one or the other and just makes for safer and more effective towing. So, let's take a closer look at this, and I'll show you how it attaches to the ball and make sure that this is the right fit for your application.
So it's all coated in a nice black powder coat, you know, covers everything that keeps it free of rust. We want to see how it attaches to a 2 5/16-inch ball, that's what I've got here. I'm just going to open up the latch, drop it over the top, and then you will have to come back and bring that latch down. So we just kind of cinch it down. And then you just wanna make sure that this loop locks in place.
It's kind of got a little lip there to it. And once that locks in place, you can put a lock through the hole here. That's gonna block that from being released. And the diameter for that is 5/16. You'll need to have a minimum span for that pin or a coupler lock of 7/8 of an inch once it's in place so it allows for our coupler to move so we have that nice pivot point.
But it's gonna hold on nice and securely, and there isn't a whole lot of play in there. So you shouldn't have any issues with chucking or any any space or anything or rattling or anything like that. So remove this and we can go over some more measurements. To make sure again it's the right fit for you. Now, as far as the capacity, this can handle up to 21,000 pounds for total towing weight.
Again 2 5/16-inch ball. This works with a three-inch channel bracket. It is designed for triple 7,000-pound axles. As far as our distance between the mounting-hole channels or the mounting channel itself from inside to inside, we've got 3 3/4 inches. So you have just a little bit of space to get that fit on your bracket. And then from outside to outside, it's about 4.5 inches. Our mounting holes center-to-center are spaced apart by two inches, and that's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the bolt-on coupler for your 2 5/16-inch ball. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right coupler for you. We do have a whole lot of options available here at etrailer.com So be sure to check them out, and thanks for watching..
