Specs:
Need extra light over your camper kitchen sink for when you do the dishes? Or perhaps you need to upgrade the dim, old lights in your enclosed trailer? This incandescent dome light gives you warm yellow light underneath a kitchen cabinet, in a walkway, by a workbench, or inside your enclosed trailer.
Pivoting Lights Can Be Angled Side to Side
The 2 lights on this dome light can pivot side to side, so you and your partner can each angle a light onto your sides of the bed when winding down with a good book.
Recessed, Bolt-On Installation is Easy
This dome light is incredibly easy to install as an upgrade or direct replacement of your existing light. Because it has a low-profile, recessed design, you will need to cut out a hole if you're not directly replacing a light. Then using hardware (not included), bolt the housing into the ceiling, wall or cabinet. The light wires to a switch inside your RV and hooks up to ground (white wire) and power (black wire).

Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Optronics Ultratek Series Double Fixture, Flush Mount Directional Light. Now this is a nice double fixture light, has it all in a nice black plastic housing. You can see it has a nice plastic lens on both the lights and it is a recessed Mount design. It is a rectangular incandescent directional light. And when I say directional light, it means you can move these lights to whatever direction you want the light to go to.
Right now, you can see they're just flushed up against the face. So actually if you push it on one side, you can move the direction. And if you push it on the other side, you could move it that way also. So you can change the direction of where you want the lights to go, or you can just keep it straight ahead. Now, it does use a three terminal wiring connection right here in the middle, and they do offer a trim ring for a nice clean flush installed look for this. We do sell that trim ring separately on our website.
It's part number 3801071BZL. Now this light is CSA rated, power drawn in it at 12 volts is 0.74 amps. And the last thing I want to do is just give you the dimensions on it. Overall length on it from one end to the other is 5 and 7/8 inches long. Height on it is 3 and 1/2 inches tall.
And the total depth from the front to the very back is right at 1 and 1/2 inches deep. And again, these are directional. So you can see just by pushing on, you can change it, put it in different positions to where you want the light to shine. And you can do it on either one, but that should do it for the review on the Optronics Ultratek Series Double Fixture, Flush Mount Directional Light.

Recess this dome light into the ceiling of your RV for a sleek, low-profile look and use the integrated switch to turn it on and off. Angle the light to your side of the bed when winding down with a good book. 2 Incandescent light bulbs are included.Works great upon installation: however, the internal rocking part had broken on three of 4 previously ordered They are delicate, so try not to push too hard, or force the light to turn on.
I love that they are incandescent, not LED. So much easier on the eyes when reading.
Plus there is no marker of which is positive lead or negative when connecting the lights. There is an alternate connector that can run positive from the lamp to another, but ground has to be split around light.
I tried both direction of positive and negative: one is brighter and the other way(positive and negative wires reversed) less bright and more yellow. Not sure which way is correct, though with the less bright one, one of the lamps blew out a 10 amp fuse.
Replaced fuse and the lamp turned on, but then when I turned off the lamp, the fuse blew (etrailer replaced it for me). I switched the wires to the brighter one, on all lamps, and have not had a problem for a year, other than destroying the swiveling plastic lamp housing.
Maybe they will label positive and negative connector leads.
These lights are the same product code, maybe new manufacturer, from the roof lights that came with the van in 1997, but were single swivel, and lasted 25 years. and 3/4 of the new version, only 18 months. Signs of the times.
Good price and quality.
Great customer service!

Easy install, nice light, not too bright, much easier on the eyes than the LEDs.
After to replace one though.
