This Advent Air AC unit lets you replace an old or broken air conditioner on your RV or camper. It works with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box, and it is compatible with Coleman Mach or Carrier setups if used with an adapter wiring kit (ACCOLKIT, ACCARKIT - sold separately). The AC has a powerful fan and motor that provides a steady stream of air to efficiently cool the inside of your RV on a hot or muggy day. And everything you need in order to replace or add an AC unit is included, which makes installation simple and easy.

Simple Installation

Advent Air AC Installation 15,000 BTU

Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple and easy. Most AC units, including this one, are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.

Advent Air AC Collapsible Gasket and Foam Pads

On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't needed. Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.

And in order to fully complete installation, this AC needs to be paired with your existing Advent Air, Dometic, Coleman Mach, or Carrier air distribution box and thermostat. Please note that an adapter wiring kit (sold separately) is needed if you are replacing a Coleman Mach or Carrier air conditioner.

Additional Accessories

Additional accessories can be purchased separately to improve the performance of your Advent Air AC unit. The start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) improves the performance of your AC by using stored energy to jumpstart it. And the electric heat strip (ACMHD) removes the chill on cold or frosty mornings in your RV, ensuring you stay comfortable. Please note that the heat strip will only work on Advent Air AC units.

Advent Air Warranty Coverage

2-Year limited warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.

If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), youll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

The unit was very easy to replace. The old unit was a 13,500 Btu Dometic. I was told (by etrailer) this unit would be a plug and play type since I had a previous Dometic system. Both units have the same wiring system, and they do. I simply unplugged the quick connect from old unit, removed the cooling sensor from the fins, removed the 4 bolts securing the unit to the RV, replaced the old unit with the new upgraded Advent #ACM150 15,000 Btu unit. Repeated the procedure in reverse with the new unit and the process was complete. I'm 'EXTREMELY PLEASED' with the new Advent unit and the ease of switching both units out. I Highly recommend 'etrailer' for Quick delivery Service, Reasonable Price and Professionalism. P.S. I apologize for not taking picture's /video of procedure.

I Love It! Still working great!

The last 2 AC replacements I had to do I went with Advent instead of Dometic for several rteasons including quality and price. And etrailer has the very best customer service and prices around! Good AC at a good price with good service. What more could you asl for?

I have now installed quite a few of these without a single customer complaint. Simple yet quality design and reliable. They just work.

by:

Shipped quick , once was restocked, came in with small damages to outside shell and small dent on side, almost pinched copper line, should be packaged better from company for shipping (not an ETrailer issue)so far unit seems to be working better then the original (never worked) and replacement 13500 units that Camping World had put on trailer (took off another trailer) so I decided to buy my own to replace since no trust in Camping World and work performed

Very good! The 1st one installed a capacitor failed outside temp was very hot and I was able to replace it. Worked Great with no problems after that!!

Have an 1999 Ford E-150 van used as an RV. I built a 30 amp box with 2-20 amp circuits several years ago. I and 3 doggies travel all over the SE for dog agility competitions. Loading and lifting a window A/C unit into the driver's side widow worked, but a major task. I cut and framed a hole in the van roof and installed the Advent ACM150. Had to install 12 volt system for thermostat and fish both 110 and 12 volt wire through walls and ceiling. A/C turned on perfectly the very first time I pushed the thermostat on button. Wowee...100 degrees outside; 69 degrees in the van. Absolutely life changing for me an my doggies. P.S. I am a nice 75 year old lady and still cannot believe I did this install all by myself. One year and miles later, this A/C is perfect!

Its now been three years and AC is still working perfectly. We are absolutely delighted and super cool even on very hot days with van parked in the sun.

by:

my order left etrailer within an hour of being placed. it arrived freight free 3 days later via ups. the ac was packaged very well and arrived without any visible damage. it is compatible with original thermostat and ceiling control box from a 2003 dometic 15000 btu duo therm . had to make a minor adjustment to the partition between the air chambers.the original ceiling plate was reusable as well.

by:

PROs
- easy to use
- modern looks
-low
price
Cons
-delivers air only in one direction you must guess to assemble it in the roof.
-noisy
- cools after a prolonged time
-the cold air is directed through narrow openings, weird and not useful distribution,
-cannot direct the air where I need it.

by:

Joann and Emily in customer service were terrific to deal with.A/C unit was well packaged with corner braces. No damage to unit even with two corner seams were opening. Unit has well designed internal heat shields to protect A/C from sun. Unit arrived on schedule. Cannot thank E trailer and Advent enough for a great product. Priced below market. Would reccomend this company and this unit to anyone.

by:

We installed the ac in less than an hour. Very easy. So far it works great. Nice and cold. Highley recommend it. We replaced the Dometic that quite working. Everything lined up and plugs were the same.

by:

This AC unit has been great. We installed it a year ago and its still working like new. Thanks to the great customer service we got the right parts the first time to make the install smooth. I would recommend this unit to anyone!

by:

Had for one year now. Absolutely excellent plug and play to replace my 18 year old dometic unit at less than 1/2 the price! Self install easy if you are handy

by:

One of the best decisions I have ever made regarding my RV I especially like the heating element

by:

It was basically plug and play installation on my RV, I installed 2 units at different times took approximately 1 hour. The 1st unit no problem, 2nd unit started up but was not running correctly then I remembered the 1st unit had a n extra ground wire I didn’t hook up! So I took the extra ground wire off and the unit runs great! Make sure you order the starter kit or order the unit with it already installed!!! Both units are running fine this year!!

by:

DOA on arrival. ETrailer would not take it back. Had to deal with manufacturing company who made me pay for a tech to run diagnostic to find out whats wrong. They sent the tech a check and I was never reimbursed. Would you buy something then pay money to jump through hoops to prove it was defective? Will never buy anything from etrailer again!

I am so sorry to hear that this arrived DOA. I do see that per ASA, if an item arrives DOA on arrival, then it needs to be replaced. It seems that they wont have any replacements any time soon. We should be having some in our stock by the end of the year. Please let me know if you would like to wait for a replacement or if you would prefer to have a refund and return issued.

by:

Was Simi easy to install. Only time I had to slow down and carefully read instructions was wires going to the heater unit. The thermostat is very nice and the AC blows cold. Happy so far just used it this weekend

by:

I a really underwhelmed at this point. The unit is dented. I pulled the top to install the start capacitor I purchased with the unit and the run capacitor was out of its mount just flopping around. The wires going into the condenser case were not secured to the case. I got that stuff fixed fairly quickly, I hope it works correctly.

Installed this unit as a replacement for a OEM product. The chose this unit because it was a direct replacement model and thankfully it was, even down to the electrical plug. I’m very pleased with its cooling performance. I would give a five star except I consider the Advent to be noisier than the OEM product.

by:

Great unit replaced an old unit easy to install just had to provide 12 volt power that wasn't originally going to the old one

by:

We had someone who knows how to put it in. He said it was very easy to install. He would recommend it to others.

by: 08/22/2023

The ease of installation to convert from a coleman mach series to an Advent is straightforward and quick. This was my first installation of a motor home roof mounted ac unit. I purchased the adapter plug with the templates for the conversion which I highly recommend. Yes I do have a little mechanical knowledge and experience, but anyone with a drill, the correct bit and reading comprehension can install this unit in 2 hours. Now I cheated removing and replacing the old unit with a crane. Yeah I know, overkill, but I was by myself and on the Texas coast 85 feels like 105, 105 degrees feels like a slow burning death. I plan on replacing my other coleman mach with the same unit that I did Saturday last weekend. Hope this review helps yall out. Thanks and God bless

by:

Super simple install. The hardest thing was getting it on the roof and the old one down. Simple plug and play. If you're at all mechanical you don't need to pay to replace your A/C unit. 6 screws to remove the inside cover, 4 bolts holding the unit to the roof, one main plug and a sensor wire. The sensor was just jambed into the factory condensor. The new unit actually had a clip in it for the sensor. I highley recommend this unit. Works great. We had a 100 degree day and the trailer stayed at 78 all day long.

Randy

Works Great. Still blows cold and keeps the trailer cool.

by:

Got it unboxed but not installed. Looks great.
Looking forward to the extra cooling capacity

by:

This unit is excellent and works very well. Added on the optional start capacitor and it works great with my 3600w generator.

by:

Good product

Install was easier than I thought, about 30 minutes once I figured it all out.

The Dometic air conditioner units are sealed therefore they cannot be recharged with refrigerant. The only option is to replace the unit.
