6-Pin Connector

This Advent Air AC unit lets you replace an old or broken air conditioner on your RV or camper. It has a 6-pin connector for easy plug-and-play installation and it works with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box. The AC has a powerful fan and motor that provides a steady stream of air to efficiently cool the inside of your RV on a hot or muggy day. And everything you need in order to replace or add an AC unit is included, which makes installation easy.

Simple Installation

Advent Air AC Installation 15,000 BTU

Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple. Most AC units are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.

Advent Air AC Collapsible Gasket and Foam Pads

On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't needed. Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.

And in order to fully complete installation, this AC needs to be paired with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box and thermostat.

Additional Accessories

Additional accessories can be purchased separately to improve the performance of your Advent Air AC unit. The start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) improves the performance of your AC by using stored energy to jumpstart it. And the electric heat strip (ACMHD) removes the chill on cold or frosty mornings in your RV, ensuring you stay comfortable. Please note that the heat strip will only work on Advent Air AC units.

Advent Air Warranty Coverage

2-Year limited warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.

If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), you'll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

  • Troubleshooting Coleman Mach AC Controller Shutting Off Advent Air Conditioner After Update
This sounds like an issue with the Coleman thermostat/controller. I would recommend changing to the Advent which we have either a Manual Air Distribution Box # ACDB or Thermostat Air Distribution Box # ACRG15.

  • Replacement Options For A Dometic RV Air Conditioning System
Hey Eric, Since both of your units run off of one thermostat the Advent, as well as the other options we currently offer would not be a compatible match. You would have to completely replace the Dometic system with something like the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR94FJ or switch to two separate systems if you went with an Advent Air # ASA26YR. The options we offer do have heat strips available but I wouldn't really consider their output to be what you're looking for.

  • Recommended Replacement For A Coleman-Mach 48203C969 13,500BTU Unit
Hey James, Yes, you can replace a 13,500btu unit with a 15,000btu unit for better efficiency. I recommend going with the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup - 15,000 Btu # FR42PV. This would come with a wire harness adapter for a plug-and-play connection and would reuse the four bolts that your Coleman unit is held in place with.

  • What are The Wattage/Power Demands For The Advent Air Low Profile RV AC Package # ASA78YR?
The Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV56FR included with the Advent Air Low Profile RV AC Package # ASA78YR does not list specific starting and running watts. I was able to find information in a flyer for this AC that it has a rated wattage of 1,750W. I also pulled the Specs for the AC from the installation manual which shows power supply in amperage ratings. I have included this in the image below. The main reason they do not list starting and running wattages is the AC has...

  • What Is The Smallest AC Unit For Adding AC System To A Cargo Trailer/Camper
Hello Tyson. The smallest AC unit we offer is the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner and this will be a great option for you. Since this is a smaller trailer you can definitely get away with a 13,500 BTU unit. These AC units require the roof to be between 2-1/2" and 5" thick, so please do keep that in mind during your build. For a complete AC system I recommend the following: - Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner - 13,500 Btu - White # ADV79FR - Air Distribution Box w/ Built-In...

  • Which 15,000 Btu Advent AC to Replace Coleman Mach & On Shore Power
Since you are using shore power, you can replace your Coleman with an Advent 15,000 Btu unit and just need the wiring adapter. I really like the low profile units so I recommend going that route, and you can choose from either White or Black in color: - White: Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV29FR - Black: Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV56FR - Adapter Wiring Kit for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners # ACCOLKIT

  • Need Direct Plug And Play Replacement For Dometic Duo-Therm 659516.531
Hello Scott. Our best option for replacing the Duo-Therm is an Advent AC unit. The Advent AC units are made to be directly compatible with Dometic AC systems. Meaning the AC unit will plug in, and all of your ceiling registers and thermostat will stay in place and work exactly the same (only with colder air). We have Advent units available in both 13,500 BTU and 15,000 BTU depending on your needs. Here is what I recommend: 13,500 BTU - Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner - 13,500...

While both the Duo-Therm 630515 and 630516 are low profile units the 630515 is a 13.5K and the 630516 is a 15k. Here is a list of the low profile units we have in both 13.5K and 15K. These are simply the rooftop units and will reuse your Dometic Duo-Therm controls and air distribution box. White 13.5K # ADV79FR White 15K # ADV29FR Black 13.5K # ADV89FR Black 15K # ADV56FR

  • What Hardware Is Needed To Install An Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner
The hardware it's referring to are the four bolts that clamp the rooftop condenser unit to the air distribution box inside the trailer. We usually just reuse the bolts from the previous unit during the installation of the new unit # ADV56FR. Before you purchase the unit you'll want to check for what style plug your current unit has so you can match it. You'll need to remove the cover of the air distribution box and look for the wire harness that hangs down from the condenser unit and...

You can use either the White # ACM150 or Black # ACM150B Advent AC as a direct replacement for the Dometic Brisk Air 2 15K rooftop AC unit. We do also have low profile units in White # ADV29FR or Black # ADV56FR if you have any height concerns for your trailer. The low profile units is roughly 2-1/2" shorter in overall height.

  • Are Advent AC Units Compatible w/ Micro Air Thermostats?
No, I am sorry. I checked with Micro Air and their thermostats are not compatible with Advent AC Units like the item # ADV56FR you were looking at. Dometic replacement just means it's got the correct wiring adapter. A comparable unit that is compatible with a Micro Air thermostat is the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup item # FR42PV.

  • Can the Heat Strip from a Dometic Duo Therm Be Used On an Advent AC
Nick, yes you will be able to transfer your heat strip # ACMHD with the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV56FR. If your Dometic had a heat pump then you'll need to pop the cover off of the thermostat and set the dip switches to up-down-down to switch it form heat pump to heat strip.
