The ski and fishing rod carrier mounts in the top channel of your Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero or Heavy-Duty crossbars with T-bolts. It also comes with universal clamp-on mounting hardware that lets you use the carrier on round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars right out of the box.
This carrier protects your gear with soft rubber molding inside the hinged arms of the carrier. The molding gently cradles your skis or fishing rods and won't damage paint or cause abrasions.

I purchased a pair of ski racks from you last spring. They were for a Nissan Exterra. The mounting bracket did not fit on the cross bars so I had to go in search of some longer bolts to use. I clearly does not fit ideally but I got it to work.
Great for a single pair of alpine skis or a nordic and poles. Fits great next to the roof mounted bike rack.

Very thorough shopping e-commerce provided by vendor to help selecting the best options to fit my truck. However the Oder updates are a bit slow and due to the time lags between changes , confirmations are confusing.
Telephone assistant was great but took long time to resolve issues by the first respondent. The second one was much better.
Items needed to support the whole set up have to be doubled checked by myself otherwise one item was missed accidentally and the answer was vendor assumed buyer’s decision is correct.
Product delivered extremely fast once all issues are cleared, this is marvelous especially the shipping is free under this promotional period.
Installation is user friendly, spent about two hours and satisfactorily completed by myself.

Great product! I think it's a bit expensive but well worth it. I bought it to transport my fishing poles. So no long rods in my new SUV.
This works well. My only suggestion for improvement is including a quick release for when it’s not in use. The bolts are not of the highest quality and won’t withstand multiple removal and installations.
Great product after a year of hard use in the Oregon wilderness.
Once again etrailer gets it right. Amazon has wrong information listed as 19".
This is a great accessory to use for hauling rods. Not the best to use if your cross bars are round because they do slip and need adjusting. I think if we had flat bars, it would be less likely to need readjusting. But it really is a great product and alternative.
etrailer did a great job and got me this product which was very easy to install right before my sons fishing trip. I highly recommend them for direct purchases and yes you can bypass amazon.
The service and communication were a 10!!! I had a time crunch and etrailer delivered!!! so very pleased with their assistance and the product!

Hey Nancy! Glad that everything arrived in time! Where were you headed to with the rack?
Last year I purchased Rino ski racks from etrailer and they work great . The hardware fit my roof racks and all the fittings are tight. Ordering was easy. Shipping was fast and I even got a follow up personal email from George a year later asking how I liked them - which was impressive!
I would definitely recommend etrailer as an honest and good outdoor gear company!

The racks are still working great after three years, as they were re- configured to an aftermarket steel cross bar set on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. They adapted well. One of the bottom brackets mysteriously fell off due to too much excitement putting them on! Given the 2 x inch and a half bolts remaining were strong enough to hold my skis from Flaggstaf to Tucson. I adapted the missing lower bracket with a six inch piece of drilled every inch electrical .... strap. My only regret is not getting either the next size up or the full 6 ski rack. Two pairs of skis are tight and dont allow room for poles. Remember your poles! Overall still happy with my Rhinos .
Super easy to install and looks great. These were a breeze to put on and they were just what I needed to keep smelly fishing poles and nets out of my new car. Pulling on them after they were installed moved my whole car so I know they are firmly attached and my gear will be staying put when loaded on top of the vehicle. Seems to be the same high quality as my Rhino full rack system that was installed earlier this year.

Exactly what I needed.
My second Rhino Rack. I use the racks for skiing and fishing pole. I travel a lot and have never had a problem with them. The Installation is simple and can be completed in under 15 minutes.
Etrailer was cheaper than amazon, didnt charge for shipping, and I got the rack a few days after ordering. Would totally recommend etrailer.

They delivered what was promised. However, I think there could be better communication on how the package was shipped and it would have been nice if they would include a tracking number. But, all that aside, I received the product in a timely fashion.
This Rack States that it's for 2 skis. If you use a travel bag on modern skis, too protect them while traveling,with wider waste width,this Rack does not accommodate 2 bagged skis.

We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience David. As you already found out, the Rhino-Rack 572 is designed to carry up to 2 skis without bags, based on standard ski dimensions. When skis are placed inside padded travel bags, especially modern skis with wider waist widths, the added bulk can exceed the rack’s clamping capacity. The Thule SnowPack Extender Ski and Snowboard Carrier - Slide Out - 6 Pairs of Skis or 4 Boards - Silver # TH7325 would be a better fit for Skis in bags.

This rhino product was the perfect solution for me. With a roof rack nearing capacity, I still wanted an accessory for my fishing rods AND ski’s. This rhino product filled that need! Super easy to install in the T-track. Thanks agan!

I have heard of Xterra factory crossbars being thicker which could mean adding on a roof rack to allow for accessories to be mounted. The cross bar dimensions that this carrier works with is up to 3 and one half inches wide and 1 and one half inches tall.
