Compatibility of Rhino-Rack Fishing Rod Holder with a Pioneer Platform System

Will the Rhino Rack RR572 rod holder work with the Pioneer Platform? It looks like the t-slot bolt on the holder will fit fine into the c-channel of the platform, but I worry there wont be enough space between the holder itself and the platform for a reel to hang. Thanks.

The Rhino-Rack Ski and Fishing Rod Carrier # RR572 will allow you to mount the carrier to the Pioneer Platform # JA8215 in the integrated T-slots. You are correct that there will not be clearance for the reel of to hang unless mounted at the very edge of the platform, but that can also be viewed as a positive. The reel in many cases will be close to the roof when using crossbars and the flex of the rod could be an issue, where the platform will cupport the reel and allow you to fasten or support it as desired. I've attached a photo to assist where you can see the T-slots being utilized on crossbars.
The other consideration is the platform depending on what mounting is used can actually sit higher than crossbars, so if you want the reel to hang from the platform you could absolutely do that an may have even more clearance than the photo shown depending on how you choose to set up your system.
Finally, you may want to consider the Rhino-Rack Ski and Fishing Rod Carrier Brackets for Pioneer Platform Rack # RR43159 to change the angle of the carrier to allow the clearance desired for the reel. This carrier will give you a 75 degree angle.
