SnowPack 4 Skis or 2 Boards

The Thule SnowPack lets you carry up to 4 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards on the roof of your vehicle. The low-profile carrier adjusts to the size of your skis and snowboards to reduce the height of the rack, and it installs quickly and easily with the SpeedLink mounting system. 2 sets of T-track extensions let you raise the carrier to accommodate skis and boards with tall bindings. And large push-button releases make it easy to load and unload, even with gloves on.

Vertical Spring System

Vertical Spring System

The SnowPack's smart vertical spring system gives the carrier a low profile and improves aerodynamics. The spring system adjusts to the thickness of the skis or snowboards you're loading and only raises the top of the carrier as high as needed to secure your gear. Similarly, when unloaded the spring system compresses to reduce the overall carrier height.

Ultra-Soft Rubber Liner

The spring system is made of an ultra-soft rubber that secures your skis and snowboards in place. The rubber lines the top and bottom of the arms and protects your gear from being scratched or scuffed by the carrier.

SpeedLink Mounting System

SpeedLink Mounting System

The carrier installs with the SpeedLink universal mounting system. Simply set the carrier on top of your crossbars and run the stainless steel straps under them. Then hook the straps onto the brackets on the other side of the mounting assembly and tighten them down with the turn knob.

2 Sets of Raisers

T-Track Raisers

The SnowPack comes with 2 sets of T-track raisers to protect your roof from skis or snowboards with tall bindings. To install, slide the channel bolts into your crossbar's T-track and snap the raisers onto the bottom of the carrier. Then set the carrier on your crossbars, running the channel bolts up through the holes in the raisers. Lastly, remove the pad inside the carrier and then tighten the cam levers to the channel bolts and throw the cam levers.

2 Sets of Raisers

The 2 sets of raisers can be used individually or together, depending on the size of the gear you're transporting.

Oversized Push-Buttons

Oversized Push-Buttons

The carrier opens with oversized push-buttons on the end of each arm. The large buttons release with a natural upward motion, so they're easy to operate even while wearing heavy, winter gloves.

One-Key Security

One-Key Security

The SnowPack comes equipped with Thule's One-Key System. The locks in the carrier's arms and the SpeedLink mounting assembly are all keyed alike, so you'll only have to keep track of one key. One-Key System lock cylinders can be swapped out to make all of your Thule gear keyed alike.

Video Transcript for Thule SnowPack Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review

Today we'll be taking a look at the Thule SnowPack Ski and Snow Board Carrier for four pairs of skis or two boards. Part number TH7324. The Thule SnowPack 4 is the right on solution for carrying four pairs of skis or two snow boards. The smart vertical spring system accommodates all thicknesses off skis and boards, reducing the carriers height, giving it more low profile, aerodynamic design. It features a large push button with a locking core which can be released with a natural up motion to make it easier to load and unload our skis, even while wearing gloves. The arms themselves have soft rubber padding on the top and the bottom, and, not only is it going to help absorb the vibration in our skis and boards while we are on the road, it's also going to protect their finish. The universal locking hardware is going to allow it to work with your round, square, arrow, elliptic and most factor roof rack systems as well, with or without T-track.

Both carriers are constructed of a corrosion-resistant aluminum so they're going to strong and durable. It's going to allow you to fit four pairs of skis or two snow boards. Thule also stands behind their product and has a limited lifetime warranty. Now that we have gone over the features, we'll show you how to get it installed. Now there's two ways you can go about putting this on your roof rack system. You can use the clamp method, or you can use the t-slot method.

I'm going to show you both. Let's go ahead and do the t-slot method first. We're going to hop up here next to the bar. Now, normally what you would do is you would cut and measure out your strips around your t-bolts to make it fit, but for today's demonstration, we're just going to go ahead and remove the whole strip. We're going to go ahead and remove our end cap and pull that all the way out and set that aside. Then we can take two t-bolts and slide those in in the channel there.

Then we can just replace that end cap for now. Now, let's go ahead and grab one of our carriers. We'll need to put our feet on bottom, so we'll grab the smaller-looking block, line up our holes and clip them in place. Now we can go ahead and put it in position on our t-bolts. Now, if we want our carrier to sit a little bit taller on our load bar, Thule does include a larger block that we can just simply clip on to the block that we already have on. This would be good for if you are carrying thicker boards so it doesn't come in contact with the roof of your vehicle.

If you choose to use it with the thicker block, you'll need to use the longer t-bolt as well. You can see the difference between the two, but we're going to use the shorter mounts and just go ahead and set that in position. Now, let's go ahead and open up our carrier, so we'll press in on this gray button here, raise it all the way up. I'm actually going to bring this a little bit towards me, and we're going to open up our padding here on the inside, to the left. The padding always comes undone on the right-hand side, that's with the lock facing towards us, and as we pull that back you can see how it's revealing our t-bolts on the inside here. So you pull your pad all the way back. You can even tuck it around the top. That way it stays open. Then the next thing we can do, is grab one of our levers, or our thumb screws, and put that on top. We'll just get both started, and we can tighten it down evenly. Now, before we start tightening it down all the way, we want to make sure we have it positioned correctly where we want it on our load bars. I'm going to move it just a little bit more towards the center here. Not all the way, but slightly, and then we can tighten that down. All right, once we get those tightened down, we can push our levers down, replace our padding, push it back down in the grooves, and close it up for now. The only thing left to do would be to repeat that same process on the rear bar, and then we're ready to load up some skis and snow boards. Let's go ahead and show you the clamp method. Now, for the clamp on method, these are going to assemble just a tiny bit different. We're not going to use and feet on the bottom. We'll just open up our carrier. We'll pull the padding to the side, just as we did before. Then we can grab our clamp. We'll come underneath, push that up through. We'll grab one of our levers or our knobs, and get that started. Then, we'll just tighten it down all the way, and you still want to keep the clamp horizontal. Close up our lever, and then we can put our other one on. Once the other one's on, we can go ahead and close up our pad, close up our carrier, and head on up there. Now, since we're using the clamp on method, we won't need to remove the rubber strip on our load bar. It simply just sets on top. The straps go underneath, and clip into the other side. Once they're clipped in, we just tighten it down with our gray thumb screws. Once we've got them both evenly tightened down, we can lock it in place. Then we can just repeat that same process on the rear bar. Now, with them both installed, it's a good idea to make sure they are parallel and in-line with one another. That way we can ensure that our skis and snow boards will sit evenly, and we'll be able to get the most out of it. We've got some skis and some snow boards here. Let's go ahead and load them up. First, we'll make sure our carriers are opened up. Press in on our gray button. Open them all the way. Then I'll grab my skis. I'm going to scoot them all the way to the end to make room for my snow board. I'll put that on. Make sure it is positioned on the pads, that way I can still close it. I'd say that looks pretty good. Now, I'm going to lower them down. Now, what you're looking for here is two clicks. There's the first one, and there's the second one. We'll do that with our rear one here. Now, once we've made sure that they're secured with the two clicks, we can lock them up, and then we can hit the road. Here on our test course, let's first go into our slalom. This is going to show side-to-side action, such as going around corners or evasive maneuvering. Then on to our alternating speed bumps. This is going to show a twisting action, such as going over pot holes or uneven pavement. Then, finally, on to our solid speed bumps. This is going to show an up and down action, such as pulling in and out of a driveway or out of a parking lot. That's going to complete our look at the Thule SnowPack Ski and Snow Board Carrier for four skis or two boards. Part number TH7324. .

Do you have a question about this Ski and Snowboard Rack?

  • Roof Rack Mounted Fishing Rod Holders
  • One of the most common alternate uses for ski and snowboard holders that are rubber clamp style is for fishing rods. They fit comfortably in the same numbers as the number of skis that a rack can hold, though you can load a few more if you're comfortable with them being closer together. Thule's best option for this use is the SnowPack 4 Ski model, part # TH7324 . This comes with integrated locks and larger-than-normal release buttons to make it easy to access. It also includes integrated...

  • Difference Between Thule and Rhino Rack Ski Rack
  • The Rhino Rack ski rack part number # RR572 is a confirmed fit for Thule square or aero crossbars. The biggest difference you'll notice with this rack over the Thule SnowPack part # TH7324 will be how the rack attaches to the bars. The Thule has a very easy to use strap that goes around the bars whereas the Rhino Rack will require wrenches to tighten and loosen from the crossbar. If it's something you plan to take on and off frequently you'll want the Thule. If it's a rack you'd only...

Thule does not offer retro-fit kits or adapters to let their ski carriers for square bars fit factory bars.
