Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a brief look at this replacement dome seal for the Ventline Ventadome trailer roof vents. This seal is going to keep water from entering between your dome and the base when your vent is closed. And this seal, as you can see, has a flexible design. It feels very durable.
And this is going to work with Ventline vents manufactured after 2008. And this is also going to fit older style Ventline roof vents as long as it has a rounded dome. This seal will work with metal flanges. And this is made here in the USA and you're going to receive this one seal. And it's 52 inches long and it's 3/8 of an inch thick.
And I did want to point out briefly, at the bottom of the seal, it has a split design, as you can see. This is the portion that's going to get pushed down onto your vent. So, when you're replacing your seal, this portion right here is going to get pushed onto your vent lip and the seal's going to push right on. I do wanna recommend using a few dots of silicone sealant. That is going to help ensure that this seal stays in place.

The replacement gasket is a perfect fit. In the detail picture it said to measure 13"x13" which if all 4 corners were square would equal 52" but because the corners are curved the 50-1/2" gasket fit perfectly.
I replaced the seal on 3 Ventline vents. The product was exactly what I needed and fit perfectly. No cutting was needed. It took only 5 minutes to do the job.
I ordered two of these gaskets and they fit my roof vents perfectly. They are an exact replacement. Thanks.
The gasket was hard, I would’ve thought it would’ve been pliable and soft so that it would make a good seal with the Vet dome when it was closed and it does not. It wasdifficult to get onto the vent frame. I had to glue it on it wouldn’t stay on.
I ordered this vent seal and had someone put it on. There was about 1/2" of extra when installed. I gave it an Excellent rating because it went on as the part number from the Ventline V2094 Vent and fit properly. Hopefully this stops the leak due to a dried out and weathered gasket/seal.
Installing the new dome seal was easier than removing the fossilized old seal. Still in place after a wind storm sucked the dome open, ruining the opening mechanism. I'm satisfied.

Dome seal is still there after 1 year use.

My old gasket seal was crumbling and useless on my 2011 Wells Cargo enclosed trailer. I checked with etrailer and they found the correct one to replace my old one. You guys have everything I need!

This will be the second time in six years that I have replaced this gasket. Removal and installation are straight forward. I have experienced that this product actually shrinks a little bit. I would like to see a small squeeze tube of some sort of adhesive to help keep the gasket where it is installed.

I would recommend using a few small dabs of a silicone sealant to keep the gasket in place.
Thanks for etrailer's willingness to answer my questions. The BV0554-01 was the perfect replacement for the dome that was on my trailer even though the dimensions of my opening were 13" x 13" not the 14" x 14" as your web paged suggested. The dome was exactly like the original equipment one on my trailer that cracked.
I ordered the white one even though there was a question in my mind whether it would let enough light in. I was tempted to order the smoked one. The white one lets in plenty of light. Frankly I am not sure that the smoked one would allow more light in.
The new dome was easily installed. I think mine is probably missing some sort of a nylon roller on the crank arm. At any rate, I did not have to remove the screen and the crank assembly to replace the dome. I simply opened the dome all the way and was easily able to adjust the dome and pop out the crank arm. Maybe not having the nylon roller allowed me to do that, I don't know. Sliding the old dome hinge out was simple and sliding in the new one was equally easy. I also replaced the dome gasket (BVD0455-01) that was dried out and cracked. That was also easy, but was a little more tedious sliding it around the curves. In total the repair took less than 10 minutes.
All in all, my etrailer experience was excellent. They quickly answered my questions. In fact Jameson Clark responded to my questions at 7:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve. I was amazed. Give this guy a raise. He understands what excellent customer service is. Thank you Jameson.
I ordered the dome and the gasket on Tuesday Jan. 5. They shipped it out on the same day. I did not pay for expedited shipping but instead opted for economy shipping. the order arrived on Saturday Jan 9. I recommend etrailer. I will surely use them again.
