Would Replacement Dome Seal for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vents # BVD0455-01 Come Off
Updated 02/10/2026 | Published 02/09/2026 >
Question:
When this dry weather seal is on the dry aluminum around the trailer vent opening, what is the protocol to keep it in place and not to blow off when driving if vent is to be open during travel, Is there a thing to do, is it generally a permanent installation or not due to its a replaceable part and probably needs to be replaced often, thank you

Hey Michael, if you install the Replacement Dome Seal for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vents # BVD0455-01 properly it's going to hold itself to the vent assembly well and you wouldn't have to worry about it coming off in the wind. Its a friction fit and fits tight so it's not going to come off.

When I installed the seal I used a small amount of silicone to keep it from lifting off. That's how the original ones were installed on my RV.

It's on there but I can lift it off with hardly any effort, that's why I asked. I know a 70 mph wind would blow it off for sure LOL, after watching the video they mentioned maybe a couple dabs of silicone, that's what I'll do, thank you
