8-Hole mounting bar lets you adjust the pintle height to level your trailer. Cushioned shank protects your equipment and smoothes your ride. If you are using this bar with a closed trailer hitch, the receiver tube must be at least 2-3/8" deep.

Video Transcript for Convert-A-Ball Pintle Mounting Bar Review - 2014 Ford Expedition

Today on our 2014 Ford Expedition, we'll be test fitting the convert-a-ball cushioned adjustable Pintle mounting bar for two-inch hitches. With a total of eight holes, and rated at ten-thousand pounds, it's part number is AMPC2. This eight-hole mounting bar lets you adjust the Pintle height, to level your trailer. Before we begin our test fit, we first need to get our hitch height. This is a measurement from the ground to the inside top of the receiver tube. It's about 20-1/4 inches.

This is going to vary, depending on tire size, hitch style, or load. Now to begin our test fit, we'll start in the drop position. Simply slide the shank of the mounting bar into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up the pinholes, slide in our pin, and secure it with a clip. You can also flip it over into the rise position. Just pull the pin, flip it 180 degrees, put your pin back in, secure it with the clip.

This will give us additional options for height settings. That will complete today's test fit for the Convert-a-ball, cushioned adjustable Pintle mounting bar, part number AMPC2, on our 2014 Ford Expedition. .

I absolutely love this hitch!!! I regularly tow 9-10,000lbs total load (tractor and trailer). Pintle are great but noisy and tend to slam and transfer that shock to the truck. I ran a ball style of this hitch years ago and noticed a difference with that so figured I would give this a shot. I don't notice or feel any more slamming while coming to a stop or taking off! What a major comfort improvement over the rigid hitch. My only complaint, seeing as I live in New England with salty roads is that the actual sliding block inside the hitch is bare metal. It's rusting up and froze my pin inside it. Got the pin out with a air hammer and patience but now am going to soak it down. I've only owned this for a year and that's the only complaint I have

This is my second pintle mount from Conver-A-Ball I bent the first one when my pintle hook bound on the ring of my trailer. The first lasted for many years, and hopefully this replacement will too.

    I have a great solution for you. Take a look at the Convert-A-Ball Pintle Hook Combo with 3 Stainless Steel Balls # PH1. It comes with a pintle attachment and all 3 common ball sizes. The only other part needed is a shank such as # AMPC3, # AMPC2, or # AMPC1; all of which are cushioned.
