Review of the Convert-A-Ball Pintle Mounting Bar on a 2006 Cadillac Escalade

Today on our 2006 Cadillac Escalade, we'll be test fitting the convertible cushioned adjustable pencil mounting bar for two-inch hitches, rated at 10,000 pounds, part number AMPC2. Before we test fit our ball mount in the hitch, we'll first need to get our hitch height measurement. To do this, we'll measure from the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground. In this truck, that measurement is 15 and a quarter inches. Keep in mind that this measurement can change due to tire size, hitch style, or any other accessory that may change your vehicle's ride height, so it's a good idea to measure yours We'll now slide the adjustable pencil mounting bar into the hitch, line up the hitch pin holes, and slide in our hitch pin. We'll then put the clip on the other side of the pin, which will secure the mounting bar to the vehicle. In its lowest point, where the pencil can be mounted to the ground measures nine and three quarters inches. This adjustable mounting bar has eight holes to let you adjust the pencil height to level your trailer.

The cushion shank protects the equipment and smooths your ride. If you're using this bar with a closed trailer hitch, the receiver tube must be at least two and three eighths inches deep. The hole spacing on the mounting plate is three and three eighths inches apart from left to right and one and three quarter inches apart from top to bottom. We can now flip the pencil mounting bar over into the rise position. In the rise position, from the highest point where the pencil can be mounted to the ground measures 18 and three quarters inches. That will do it for the convertible cushioned adjustable pencil mounting bar for two-inch hitches rated at 10,000 pounds, part number AMPC2 on our 2006 Cadillac Escalade.
