Hey Timothy! I’m sorry to hear your etrailer 60x24 Folding Cargo Carrier #e98874 is already starting to show some rust. Living near the ocean is definitely tough on exposed steel, even with a protective powder coat. The Benton MoveHitch 60x24 Cargo…
Hey Neal! You can use the standard 5/8" Hitch Pin and Clip #e47RV for quicker installation and removal, or the Locking Hitch Pin #e98882 if you want to keep the carrier secured to the vehicle. Either way, you will lose the built-in anti-rattle…

Terry, you've picked out a really nice combination for a family road trip. The Benton MoveHitch part #B86VR is lightweight at just 45 pounds, so it's much easier to install than many steel cargo carriers. The Benton HotMesh Cargo Net part…

The cargo bag I highly recommend for your Pro Series Cargo Carrier #63153 is the etrailer Cargo Bag #988501. It has 20 cubic feet of storage, is waterproof with PVC coated nylon, and has six tie-down straps that will secure it to your Pro Series…
Hello Todd, great question. The Yakima EXO Swing Away and Gear Locker #Y62VR is going to allow you to open the rear doors on your 2025 Sprinter 3500XD RV at around 90 degrees. Then with the box removed you may face a clearance issue with your…
Carson, totally fair concern, but you’re actually in better shape with this rack than most platform-style carriers. The Benton Modular Cargo Carrier #B42FR sits high on the hitch arm, and nothing hangs below your receiver. The shank will stick out…
I do have a solution for you, but the 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier #e98874 is not designed to be used on the back of an RV. Generally speaking, folding carriers are not ideal because they do not stand up too well to the extra stress exerted by the…
Hey Doyle, welcome back! The push-button mechanism on the Benton MoveHitch Cargo Carrier #B86VR and #B38VR (with cargo net) is very reliable and has been thoroughly tested. It is actually one of the best features of the MoveHitch since it makes it…
Hey Michael, welcome back! The Benton MoveHitch 60x24 Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches #B38VR you looked at does have a tilt away feature. This can help with loading/unloading, and also help clear a rear hatch. The tilt mechanism is one of the…
Hey Garret, we actually have an LED light kit for the etrailer cargo carrier part #e98874 with the part #e67RV which puts a couple smaller light bars at the rear of the carrier like you can see in the attached picture. These will have the running…
WOW! I am impressed! I called to place my order and real person answered, spoke perfect English, albeit a slight southern accent, and my order was sent within a day, shipped quickly and I had it a few days later. I saved over a hundred dollars over local and installed it my self. I cant imagine how that they could do any better. THANKS!

Hitch Cargo Carriers for road-ready extra space
Pack beach gear, snow tires, or a generator without losing interior room using a hitch cargo carrier. Adapters that step 1-1/4" up to 2" cut tongue weight in half, so choose a carrier that fits your hitch to keep capacity. For added confidence, consider enclosed options with covers, add a light kit or reflective tape for visibility, an anti-rattle collar to reduce movement, and locking setups to secure your load.
Skip the adapter when you can. Using an adapter to go from 1-1/4" to 2" cuts your tongue weight in half, which takes away capacity you may want for a carrier. Pick a carrier designed for a 1-1/4" hitch instead. Check your hitch's tongue rating and add up the carrier plus cargo weight before you load up for the beach.
Add a tail light kit if your vehicle needs it or if the carrier blocks your lights. If the carrier isn't clearly marked, apply retroreflective tape to the back and edges to help it stand out. If you have a 4-way flat, you can use the running light circuit to power a license plate light.
Use an anti-rattle hitch device to help tighten the connection at the receiver. Verify your hitch pin size so a locking pin fits; some carriers use a smaller pin. Secure your load with straps or a cargo net to limit movement. If scraping is a concern and your carrier has multiple pin positions, adjust it before steep approaches and re-pin before driving at speed.
Confirm your hitch or bumper is reinforced and rated for the total weight of the carrier plus cargo. Keep within the listed tongue rating and the carrier's capacity. For security, look for an integrated locking mechanism or add a locking hitch pin. Long trips are smoother when the load is locked down and balanced over the hitch.
