Hitch and Bike Rack for 2017 Mercedes-Benz C 300 Sedan With Step Through E-Bike

Hi. I have a 2017 Mercedes C 300 four-door sedan. I recently bought a single step through E bike with front and rear fenders. I need recommendations for an E bike rack and a hitch that would work for my requirements noted above. Thank you Ken.

Hey Ken! For a hitch you can use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11485. The only downside to this is the Class I rating and 1-1/4" receiver. You may be able to use a bike rack like the Inno Tire Hold # INH110 with a 60 lb rating. However, if those are full coverage fenders I don't expect this style to work.
The only other option with this hitch would be to move to a 2-bike rack like the # RKY77RR. This is Class I compatible and works with fenders as well. It has the same 60 lb per bike capacity.
You could also switch to the Stealth Hitch # SH52SR which is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. This gives you more options so you could use a single bike rack like the RockyMounts HighNoon FC Solo # RKY87RR which requires at least a Class II hitch.
What kind of e-bike do you have? If it weighs more than 60 lbs let me know in the comments below and we can see what options are available with a higher capacity.

I am using the Curt Hitch on my 2020 Mercedes-Benz C300. I had it professionally installed three years ago, and they told me they had to make a few 'customizations' to get it to fit, but that was due to the AMG equipment in the trunk area. I am using the 1-1/4" hitch with 3 1Up trays and it works great.
