Because of the spoiler atop the rear hatch of the 2016 Clubman S, none of our bike rack manufacturers offer a trunk mount rack that'll work, as the spoiler isn't strong enough to support the weight of the rack plus the bikes without sustaining damage.

I'd recommend a hitch mount bike rack. You'd begin by installing the Curt Class I hitch, part # C11524. This hitch works great, especially for folks that don't want to see an ugly hitch hanging off the rear of the vehicle. When installed, the only portion of the hitch that's visible is the square receiver tube and the safety chain loops as shown in the provided photo. The hitch is pretty unobtrusive once installed, as you can see.

For a super-light reasonably priced, yet quality bike rack, you can't go wrong with the Kuat Beta, part # B202-114. The Beta only weighs about 12-1/2 lbs due to its aluminum construction, so its super-easy to handle and store when not being used. The anti-rattle system holds the rack tightly in the hitch receiver so the rack won't jostle around much.
