Note: Designed for flat towing only. Do not use to tow a trailer.

Many tow systems require some sort of hitch accessory to either raise or lower your tow bar so that it sits level. To determine if your setup needs an adapter, hook the tow bar up to your rv and towed car and measure to see how close to level it is. The "safe zone" for a motor-home-mounted tow bar ranges from 3 inches above level to 3 inches below. This high-low adapter can provide you with the necessary drop or rise to achieve a safe and level tow bar setup.

  • Recommended Adjustable Ball Mount w/ 6" Rise for a Motorcycle Carrier
What you read was true in most cases but you do not need an adapter. What you need is the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount item # 325-GH-304. This has four stacked 2" receivers that will allow you to mount your motorcycle carrier and not lose any of your hitches capacity. The Gen-Y item # 325-GH-304 has a tongue weight capacity of 1,500 lbs and will give you a rise up to 7-1/2". The Curt High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars item # C26FV you were looking at can only be used...

  • Trailer Hitch For 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan Mobility Van
Hello Xiomara, thanks for reaching out. It may be possible to add a hitch to your modified Dodge Grand Caravan. For the 2016 model, the correct hitch is the etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e98854. Generally, the vehicle being lifted would not be a factor in hitch fitment, unless supports were added in the location the hitch installs. I suggest you look over the diagrams in the instructions as well as our install video which are both linked below. Make sure there are no obstructions on the frame...

  • Does Curt High Low Adapter part # C26FV Have a Tongue Weight Rating
Hey Eric, since Curt designed the high low adapter part # C26FV for flat towing vehicles only it was never tested for a tongue weight rating and therefore it doesn't actually have one. Instead we have the Roadmaster part # RM-048-6 which also has a 6 inch rise/drop but has a tongue weight rating of 400 lbs. You can't tow a trailer with this but you could use a hitch cargo carrier or a bike rack.

  • Will The etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar e74ZR Fit Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate RM-523193-5
Hi Chris! The etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plates - RV Mount - 6,000 lbs # e74ZR will definitely work with the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate # RM-523193-5 you have on your 2019 Chevy Equinox. So you are good to go there. I would definitely recommend getting a high low adapter though. You want the RV's hitch to be within 3" of the base plate connections, so a 6" height difference between the two is going to be too much to tow safely. With that...

  • Can I Upgrade a 8,000 lbs Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Hitch to 10,000 lbs or 12,000 lbs?
Hey Zach, welcome back! You can indeed swap out the spring bars. The head on the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Systems, like your 8K item # FA92-00-0800, is the same for the 6,000 lbs - 12,000 lbs rated systems. To upgrade to 10,000 lbs, you'll need the 1,000 lbs Replacement Trunnion Spring Bars item # FA92-01-1099. To upgrade to 12,000 lbs, you'll need the 1,200 lbs Replacement Trunnion Spring Bars item # FA92-01-1299. You'll also want to make sure your hitch ball is rated for the...

  • Does Curt High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars Have a Tongue Weight Rating
The Curt High-Low Adapter # C26FV actually doesn't have a tongue weight rating because it is only designed to handle the tongue weight of a tow bar. Aside from that it will pull up to 7,500 lbs of weight behind your RV for a flat towing setup which is why Curt doesn't have a tongue weight listed.

  • What Hitch Riser Would Work With Trailer Hitch Receiver On 2023 VW Taos To Carry Cargo Rack?
When we installed the Curt Receiver # C38JR we measured the inside height of the receiver at 12" where the Draw-Tite Receiver # DT79GR measured at 11-1/2". The Adapter # C26FV you found is only rated for use with tow bars as it was not designed to support tongue weight more than the weight of the tow bar. We do have the 20x48 Reese Cargo Carrier # 6502 which you can see raises the platform above the receiver shank which will give you a better height on the tray and decrease the chances...

  • Can There Be Height Difference Between RV Hitch And Toad For Curt Seeker Tow Bar?
Yes, Greg, and I’m glad you asked. For the Seeker tow bar # C32HB, Curt specifies no more than a 3-inch height difference between the RV’s hitch receiver and the base plate tabs. If you’re outside that range, you’ll need a high-low adapter like # C26FV to level things out. Running unlevel can stress the arms and wear them out prematurely. Do you know the receiver height on your Class A? I can help you pick the right adapter.
