Replacement Furrion Chill Cube AC System for a Coleman Mach 10 Ducted AC System

Updated 12/18/2025 | Published 12/17/2025

Question:

I have a Colman ducted mach 10 in my fifth wheel. Would I be able to replace this unit with the Furrion Chill Cube 18k ducted? Also would my furnace still work separately with my original thermostat? Or by replacing my ac unit to the furrion somehow won’t let me operate my furnace.

Hey Jason, thanks for the information. I've got a couple of different options for you that will replace your Coleman Mach 10 but the Furrion item # LC94DX isn't going to be compatible. The EPA changed the refrigerant requirements in 2025 and the Chill Cube's have the brand new R32. They're not compatible with the older 410a refrigerant units like your Coleman Mach 10.

To just replace the AC unit and keep everything else as is on your 5th wheel trailer, you'll need the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup item # FR32PV in black or item # FR42PV in white. These are both 15,000 btu units that will only replace the AC unit. They have a included adapter that will plug directly into your Coleman distribution box. All of your controls and functions will remain the same, including the furnace. These have the older 410a refrigerant in them.

If you're set on upgrading to the newer Furrion Chill Cube 18k system, you'll need to replace every component including your thermostat. For this you'll need the Furrion Chill Cube RV AC w Air Distribution Box, Thermostat item # FR49TD in black or item # FR69TD in white. These kits include the 18k AC unit, ducted air distribution box, and thermostat. You will be able to reuse your existing wiring and control your furnace.

I highly recommend upgrading to the newer Furrion Chill Cube RV item # FR49TD in black or item # FR69TD in white. These systems are getting amazing reviews and the replacement components for the older 410a systems are going to be harder and harder to come by as they're not being made anymore.

Why are you wanting to replace your Coleman AC?

But if I have this furrion ac unit FACR18VSSA-BL-AM and purchased the Furrion Chill Cube Ducted Air Distribution Box (R32) with Operating Panel, Remote Control, Detachable Filters, White - FACT18VSDA-PS-AM, would I be able to use that in my fifth wheel and then still use my heater and thermostat as a separate component not tied to my the Furrion AC unit?

@JasonD No, you wouldn't. If you wanted to keep your furnace and thermostat separate from your AC system you would need the Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box item # FR39TD in black or item # FR99TD in white. These Chill Cube kits include an AC unit and air distribution box that are both designed for ducted systems. They do not include a thermostat.

@JerredH Thanks for the help, just want to confirm, if I already have the Brand Name Furrion Model Name Furrion Chill® Cube Variable Speed RV Rooftop Air Conditioner (R32) - 18K BTU, Black, Ducted #FACR18VSSA-BL-AM Model Number FACR18VSDA-BL-AM A/C unit and I purchased the correct ducted Air Distribution Box for that unit, with a thermostat (not the FR49td while kit, due to already having the ac unit) that set up will not work in my 5Th wheel? I understand the r32 isn’t compatible with what I have in my Coleman, but what does that matter when I’m changing the whole unit out and replacing it with the Furrion A/C unit and Furrion ADB. Am I missing/not understanding something? Also, does the remote in the ADB ducted kit act as a thermostat as well? Thank you for the help. Jason

saying I'm very satisfied with this air conditioner would be an understatement. The air conditioner comes with a remote control and will not be hooked into your existing thermostat. only electrical connections are the 120 ac and then when you put the ditribution cover on you plug that into the ac unit. I've had no issues with the AC and looking forward to continued issue free days of use. I might add that I have installed solar on my trailer and it hands this AC just fine and you don't even need to turn it off to run the microwave.
