Video Transcript for What to Know About the Replacement Lock Cylinder for BOLT Toolbox Latch

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at this Bolt replacement lock cylinder. So this is going to replace the lock cylinder in your Bolt toolbox latch that codes to Ford keys. It will fit the model that you see on the screen there. So if you're wanting to move your toolbox to a different Ford vehicle, obviously those box cylinders are keyed to your ignition key.

So if you're switching vehicles, you will need to switch out that lock cylinder so that you can use the new key to open up your toolbox. So pretty simple process to remove. You just have to use that same retaining nut, or we do have replacements that are sold separately, but just kind of pull the original one off, put this one in its place, and then use that retaining nut to secure the cylinder in place. Obviously you'll key it just the same as the original. So you'll slide your ignition key in there fully, and that will code it to that key permanently.

So if you are searching for a way to get that original recoded, you are going to have to get a replacement like this in order to use that new ignition key.
