Speaker 1: Today we're gonna take a look at the replacement lock cylinder for the bolt toolbox latch. This one codes to the Toyota key. This is designed to work with Toyota vehicles and what I would recommend is if you wanna find out if it works for your vehicle is go to the product page of this part number and at the bottom of the page, it will have a list of vehicles that this works on. Now you can use this replacement lock cylinder to replace a broken bolt cylinder in your toolbox latch or change it out to fit a different ignition key.A lock does use your vehicle's ignition key so you always have the right key with you. And the way you code it to this look is you just insert your ignition key into the bolt cylinder, turn the key once, and then the lock is permanently coded to your key. The cylinder does use a six plate tumbler sidebar which prevents picking or bumping of the lock and it's a weather proof automotive quality construction.
Uses a stainless steel lock shutter that keeps out any dirt and moisture from the cylinder and, as I mentioned, this does lock automatically when the key is removed. One note I do wanna mention is that the bolt locks permanently code to only one vehicle so they cannot be recoded or rekeyed. Product was as described. I did have to reach out to the manufacturer to get a retrofit cam assembly, which they provided at no charge. It is great to be able to use one key for the entire work truck, which is thirteen years old.

This was just the fix I needed for my Leer utility cap. They fit perfectly and were much cheaper than having a local locksmith re-key all three locks! Thanks to etrailer, my tools are safe again!

The locks were a direct replacement. Coding the lock to my key was tougher than expected, the cylinders took a bit of effort to turn to code. But once the locks were coded, they fit great and worked as desired.
I bought a used ARE commercial topper and the previous owner did not have the key to the locks. I went online and found locks that looked similiar to the ones on the topper. These Bolt lock replacement cylinders were spot on perfect. I followed the directions that came with the locks and it worked perfectly. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Customer service and communication from etrailer.com are Top notch! The lock cylinders fit and in my application had to be slightly modified due to the hardware used on an ARE DCU CV 2018 6.5 contractor cap. They coded with my ignition key and work!
Got 3 cylinders for the used cap I purchased. The cylinders worked flawlessly. It truly is as simple as the directions, 1) remove protective sticker, 2) insert truck key, 3) turn key clockwise. BOOM.. Good to go.

Exactly what I needed. Purchased a miss ordered topper keyed to a Chevy. Ordered and installed and now topper is rekeyed to my Toyota with no issues.
The part was incorrect for my use. I thought I had ordered the part that I had seen on the internet but you order department typed in the wrong number(?) and I got a different item. After some discussion back and forth I let the mistake go the way of all flesh and decided I would make the purchase locally for a little more $$. Not a very good experience since I was made to look like the bad guy not a customer.
These are awesome! Very easy to code and very easy to change out. It took me 15 minutes tops to change out all 3 locks on my cap.
