Speaker 1: Today, we're gonna take a look at the replacement lock cylinder for the Bolt Toolbox latch. This one codes to the forward side cut key. Now, this will work with Ford vehicles that use the side cut T, and if you want to find out the vehicles that this will work on is if you go to the product page for this part number, at the bottom of the page it'll have a list of vehicles that this fits. Now, you can use this replacement lock cylinder to replace a broken bolt cylinder in your toolbox latch, or change it out to fit a different ignition key. This lock uses your vehicle's ignition key, so you always have the right key with you, and the way you code it to the lock is you just insert your ignition key into the bolt cylinder, turn the key once, and then the lock is permanently coded to your key. This does use a six-plate tumbler side bar to prevent any picking or bumping of the lock. It is a weather-proof automotive quality construction.
It has a nice stainless steel lock shutter to keep out dirt and moisture from getting in the cylinder, and again this does lock automatically when the key is removed. One note I do want to mention is that the bolt locks permanently code to only one vehicle. They cannot be recoded or re-keyed, but that should do it for the review on the replacement lock cylinder for the bolt toolbox latch that codes to the Ford side cut key.

Works perfect thank you
I’m a locksmit, these locks are common to go out so now I’m keeping extra stock handy. The rekeying process was a little scary at first but simple in the end.
very easy installation, I'm happy,Only that they should include the rubber gaskets, I had to take mine out of the trash because I thought the cylinder would include them
Does what it's supposed to. Stick the key in, rotate clockwise and it's coded to your key. Be sure to turn the key all the way, both of my locks had a hitch at about a half turn. Need to turn the key 360 degrees for it to work.
I didn’t get the right ones the ones that I got is for a Ford truck
Exactly what I needed to rekey my topper. This company is great on keeping you informed on order status as these where back ordered. I had multiple contacts and was aware of the delay in the order. Great customer service and they care about their customers!
worked great.
It worked for about a week. Now we have to jiggle the key and hold your mouth just right to get it to work.
I have a Royal utility bed on a ford 350.After speaking to Royal representative found out cylinder locks prematurely wear out only on fords. Super easy to install half the cost of royal quote. Royal use the ignition key to open and access tool boxes on truck problem with that is if you break the key off in the lock at the job you have no way to get home.
Fast, service with products in stock!!
I went thru five this past year, they work good for couples of months before they jam. Garbage!
They worked perfectly for my A.R.E. contractor truck cap. The key used was for a newer FORD(2015) even though top was on a 2000 Ford. So find out what year keys will work if you want one key on your ring. Again key(no pun intended) is it worked for my A R E topper and was 1/3 cost the ARE stealership wanted
What you sent me didn't work with my truck key.
2008 Ford Ranger.
I tried all three and none of them work.
These worked great on my A.R.E. DCU truck topper! I was able to key them to my 2020 Ford side cut keys. I did NOT need the retaining nuts in my case, as I was able to reuse the nuts that were on the previous lock tumblers.
I’m a locksmith with All About Locks and while servicing a world truck in Chico Ca for a customer of mine, one of the locks I ordered didn’t work as intended.
When I called etrailer they immediately sent me out a new one. Excellent customer service. Thank you!
I will defiantly be using them again.
They worked great
Everything I’ve bought has been spot on !
All products and orders have been just as described, quick shipping!!
i’ll pay for two day delivery and it became a whole week so I paid for nothing
These lock cylinders were the exact replacement and they worked perfectly when they recoded to my truck key. Completely satisfied. Shipping was fast.
Ordering from these guys is great. You can actually speak to a person if you need to.. and they know their stuff. I got the wrong lock at first, and then spoke to William, and he helped sort it out and sent me a new lock no questions asked! These "Bolt" locks are used on most campers and tool boxes. This particular one was used on an ARE DCU contractor cap on the entry handle.
Pretty easy to replace. The e- clips are a pain, but the locks work great.
Happy with these!
Excellent product! Received as stated. Wish I hadn't ordered the wrong part! etrailer to the rescue! Called and was able to get correct part.

Unfortunately Ive had to contact Bolt to replace the lock cylinders multiple times. To date I have had to drill out and replace my 3 lock cylinders 3 times. YES, ALL 3. They will work for about 2 months but then jam up and wont unlock. Bolt has been good about replacing them at no charge. I just never know when one will malfunction. A.R.E. doesnt have any other option to offer for lock cylinders. So as long as I can get Bolt to replace them, I guess Im good to go.

Got 3 cylinders for the used cap I purchased. The cylinders worked flawlessly. It truly is as simple as the directions, 1) remove protective sticker, 2) insert truck key, 3) turn key clockwise. BOOM.. Good to go.
